Have you ever tried it?

I know people who have, but I haven't tried it. My neighbor fixes cars in exchange for help on his house. I think it is very much a business deal. Another friend gave music and dance lessons in exchange for other kinds of lessons(I can't remember the details).

My hubby doesn't barter, but has exchanged his skills more in the form of a favor. He has helped a couple of people on their computers and when needed, they have looked at his car or given him legal advice.

I know you could save a bundle by doing this. Think about your skills and how you could exchange for something you need or want.

There is a contest section such as unscrambling words. Other categories for bidding are: Arts & Crafts, baby items, bath & body, books, clothing and accessories, collectable coins, Ty beanie collectables, computer products, coupons, home electronics, recipes, food items, gift and collectables, pet supplies, house & home, jewelry showcase, misc., music & video, office supply, sports zone, toy factory, trading cards and items wanted.

I've been bartering on this site for about five years, just as long as I've been chatting on Dealofday.com. Everything is based on bidding with points. You can post items and others will bid with points and vice versa.

The site keeps track of feedback for each member. I really haven't had any trading mishaps, but nothing is perfect. You will be emailed each time you post an item, when you've placed the highest bid, when you win or when the item closes.

I seem to be spending more and more time on this site.

I've never heard of it! Thanks for the link - I'll have to check it out Bartering... think about it. Back, and I mean way back when, how do you think "we" as people survived? I mean back before there were computers, cars, phones, etc's...
In each town, people had different skills. Maybe the barber needed fruit or vegetables and people who brought them got haircuts. Then the barber would have a bit too much of the veggies/fruits and would barter those for perhaps milk from anothers cows. That's how life was lived then. A "very" good incentive to get along with "all" the townspeople!
Take it a little farther. Another has lambs/sheep - besides the meat, they also have the wool. Another person spins. A third makes clothing from the yarn. It just goes on and on.
Some things really don't change for the better.......

I've (when I'm not here, or doing stuff in the apartment); have been e-mailing back and forth w/a person from another site who's making lotion and wanted to know what he's doing wrong.
