I've had one for four years now & I love the extra space it provides when I'm not cooking.
The best thing for heavy duty cleaning is a paste that came with it - it's called Weiman's Cooktop Cleaner. It's also available at WalMart - I think a bottle is around $3 & it lasts because you only have to use a little to get things really clean. For day to day cleaning though, I just use the scrubby side of the sponge (one made for Teflon) with a little dishwashing liquid. You shouldn't use cleanser or baking powder because they can scratch (so can BonAmi even though it says it won't - it put a nasty bunch of little scratches in my sister's

Have fun with your new range. They're a bit more durable than they look - just make sure that you give it time to cool down after you cook (mine tends to hold the heat for quite some time - so check the red light on the front panel before setting down anything on the top)!
