I thought these were pretty good ideas from the [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or

Make a two-inch slit along one seam of a Wilson Tennis Ball, then place valuables inside. If you hide the doctored tennis ball among your other sports equipment, remember not to use it. Soothe insect bites. Dissolve two Alka-Seltzer tablets in a glass of water, dip a cloth into the solution, and place the cloth on the bite for twenty minutes. Boost the strength of liquid laundry detergent. Add one-half cup Arm & HammerBaking Soda with the usual amount of detergent in your regular wash cycle Maintain your septic tank. Flush one cup Arm & Hammer Baking Soda down the toilet once a week. Baking soda helps maintain proper pH and alkalinity, controlling sulfide odors. I also heard that if you let a gallon of milk go bad, and flush it down the toilet, it helps get the right enzymes (?) in your septic system to keep it working right!

I have used the baking soda for insect bites. Also this is awful but chewing tobacco is good for yellow jacket bites. When we were working in the hay field I had the bad luck of getting bit. Uncle alway chew, gross but when your swelling like a ballon anything is OK. He takes some of it and wraps my hand up and darn if it didn't go right down. But still gross.

Nancdaught, my husbands family does that too! It is gross, but who cares if you are in pain!
