I did a search on this, but didn't find that anyone had mentioned "The Tightwad Gazette", by Amy Dacizien (sp?). This is the absolute BEST book, with lots of great ideas, as well as discussing how to deal with people who think you're nuts for being cheap. This is NOT a dry list of penny-pinching ideas. The author discusses things like why you might want to quit your job, and how it can be done. She has lots of psychological and philosophical information about "tightwaddery", and she's FUNNY, too! There are actually 3 books: "The Tightwad Gazette", "The Tightwad Gazette II", and "The Tightwad Gazette III". They sell for about $12 each, or you can also get them bound together, I believe. They very useful; I've had them in my home for about 7 years, and go through them again and again. They make great, fun reading, especially when you can't sleep, or are feeling insecure about finances. Most libraries have them, so check them out. As you can see, I am quite enthusiastic about these books. If anyone else has read them, I'd love to hear your opinion!
