Man, I hate cleaning blinds! I take mine down and soak them in the bathtub using ammonia and dishwashing detergent, then scrub them a bit with a washcloth or something and hang them back up. Hate this job but it's the only way I can get them clean.

I take mine down, spread them out on an old shower curtain that I've put out in the yard, spray them with 409 (they are all while, would test any colored blinds first)and then I use the car wash brush (it has a long handle so I don't have to get down on my hands and knees to scrub) and wash them off. I hose them off when I'm done, check for missed spots, rinse again and then dry them off. I've found this to be the quickest and easiest way to get the blinds clean. Hope this helps! |

Well, ummm... you can't do it the same way I do ![]() Here the blinds are a job for the kids to do - it's always an extra job that takes at least two of them but I'd rather pay them $5 than do it myself! ![]() dianemarie does it the same way we do it here - it's far easier to lay them outside than to try to clean the ones for my front windows in the tub (we have special order 8.5' vertical blinds there that have to be cleaned at least once a year because the creme shows everything ). My best advice is to wait until summer when it's warm & then just take them all out into the backyard for a good cleaning. |

HAHAHA, Jeff... no way - they do the dishes around here too, so you'd have to pay me way more than $20 to ship them all the way out to you. |
