Big grin Forget Icky Brillo Pads Forever !!!!!!

I have seen lots of posts about dryer sheets but not this one.........Put half a dryer sheet in pans/dishes that have baked-on or stuck-on food. I saw this on t.v. and it works !! I never have to use those awful brillo pads again !!! (They just feel icky !)

Cool cheap, easy and works stain remover

Ok this is my first post so I hope I am doing it correctly. I have a real cheap, easy stain remover and it works wonderfully. You take equal amounts of Dawn Dishwashing detergent and Hydrogen Peroxide and mix together. (I use an old dishwashing detergent bottle to keep it in). When you have a stain on your clothes put some of this mixture on it and rub in. Leave sit til laundry day!! Does not hurt any fabric that I have come across, I have even used it on my carpeting and furniture. This stuff has gotton out old baby formula, baby food, spaghetti sauce, koolaid etc. Just remember to lessen the amount of laundry soap you use otherwise you will have bubbles everywhere lol.

Dervy is welcome here
HI there..first time to this board, I have been at the others here..but never this one.
A couple of my fav tips are peroxide to remove blood, my daughter gets nose bleeds & it's incredible to poor the peroxide on, watch it bubble up & disappear. Also to keep celery about forever, keep it wrapped in alum. foil.
Love the 5 minute idea..

Shocked Help! How do you get tomato stains off plastic?

I seem to have these tomato stains on almost all of my plastic containers & My 'BRAND NEW' Dishwasher also has the stains in the drum. Help!

You could try soaking the dishes in bleach water.
I've heard that TANG cleans your dishwasher although I've never used it before.

Chatter box

Thanks for the suggestions. I have to try the bleach. Don't keep tang around the house though, may have to try something with baking soda.

Wink tomatoe stains in containers

I have used the bleach method and it has worked for me to prevent getting these stains you can spray your container with pam before you put in the sauce or whatever and then the stain doesnt adhere. I hope this helps.

I use rubbing alcohol to remove built up hairspray from mirrors and the bathroom floor. You can use it full strength or diluted with water in a spray bottle. Before we moved we had a mirrored wall in our bathroom that seemed to get more hairspray on it than my head! It takes some elbow grease, but the alcohol would take it off.

Skin So Soft by Avon works great for getting lipstick off of carpet. My daughter broke the tip off of some lipstick and it was on the carpet this lady that I worked with at the time told me to dab Skin So Soft on a rag and to dab the carpet not rub it in. It worked great.

For the tomato stains, put the item in the sun for several hours, and the stain will disappear. Dh thought I was crazy when I told him to do that with one of our plastic bowls, but it really works.

Big grin

Y'all are so smart!
I can't wait to try this stuff; especially the one about the Mr. Clean wipes. OK here is what I found this morning at
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

TIP 1
Erasers can be used on your floors too. They'll remove black heel marks & on hardwood floors too.
TIP 2
Did you know ... that potatoes will take food stains off your fingers after your food preparations? Just slice and rub a raw potato on the stain and rinse in clear-cool water.

TIP 3
Even your washer needs to be washed once in a while. Run the machine on hot water, normal cycle, and add a bottle of vinegar to clean the soap film and scum that's built up inside.
TIP 4
Don't throw away ink stained clothing. A little ordinary hairspray will get it out. Just spray on the aerosol and rub the spot (s) with a coarse, dry cloth. Afterwards, launder the garment as you normally would. (Note: This one worked for me and I've also used the non- aerosol hairspray and a toothbrush, cleaned repeatedly, is also helpful.)
TIP 5
To soften brown sugar simply add a slice of soft bread to package, will be completely soft in few hours.
TIP 6
To keep the corners of your windowsills free of dust and moisture, rub a white candle into each corner of the sill.
TIP 7
To remove grease from wallpaper, apply baby powder to a clean powder puff, rub, and spot disappears.
TIP 8
Store tomatoes with stems pointed down and they will stay fresher longer.
TIP 9
Add a rib of celery to your bread bag and it will keep the bread fresher longer.
TIP 10
A shot of vodka added to a vase will keep your cut flowers fresher much longer.
TIP 11
To freshen up stale potpourri, spray with a little vodka, will revive immediately
TIP 12
Store plastic wrap in refrigerator -- it will prevent it from sticking.

Thumbs up

To dust fast I use a little poster putty on the bottom of things then I use an Ostrich feather duster(they work great)
to quickly dust everything.I don't have time to pick up and rearrange things. This way my kids dust too. And nothing gets broke.

To help dry shoes (ie.after getting caught in the rain) and keep them from getting moldy and smelly, stuff with newspapers. The paper will absorb the moisture.

Old tip:

clean your windows on a cloudy day, otherwise the windows are too warm and most of your cleaner evaporates before you can wipe it!

also I would like to add something to the perfume on the lightbulb idea...i haven't done that before, but i have read of people adding it onto a hot lightbulb! DONT do that, it's dangerous...apply to a cold lightbulb, turn it on later.

Bye all!
