Single, Frugal & Having Fun ????

Okay, I had always been the frugal type but now it is mandatory since the divorce.

I always found so many ways to have frugal fun as a family but........
need some ideas for this single life.

Keep in mind this is a small town without malls, museums and the like.
Trips to the larger cities are a twice a year treat. Plus, I work 6 days a week.

Most of the fun I have is playing cribbage, shooting pool and socializing at the faternal type clubs I belong to.

Not terrible but I would like some ideas to shake it up a bit.

Hi I am fairly new here but having ALOT of fun with all the freebie deals and coupons.. I live in a VERY small town, myself and so I do ALOT of my shopping online... One of my very favorite places to get things for a decent price is ebay.. from home furnishings to clothing to christmas gifts.. I do alot of my shopping over there and the prices are sooo awesome for us frugal folks

I've also been making some decent extra money every month with TT (see link below on my sig line) It's really come in handy for grocery money...utilities...helping to make ends meet..

Hi,
I might have this wrong, but it kind of sounds like you're looking for ways to have fun, that don't cost much - outside of online. You've got some good ones going already. After working six days - for the weekends or weeknights, how about getting a group of friends (maybe some that you play cribbage with or others?) and have a potluck dinner - you could switch homes for that and everyone could bring "something". That's if you and your friends like to cook - with the weather going to be warmer, there's always cook-outs,which are not expensive and fun.
Or possibly a cook-out where everyone brings things and each also brings a new friend, one you don't know - it helps your circle of friends just grow and grow, and that's always nice too.

Kat has some good ideas. Why not plan a cookout and invite several friends to join in and bring their own dish. If it works out maybe you can make it a regular thing. Another idea is to start a little club where you find other like-minded people and get together for different free or cheap activities. If you have any hobbies, you can run a free ad for a get together with others with the same hobby.
