Uses for conditioner.

Hi,

Can anyone suggest uses for hair conditioner other than on hair? My husband bought me these really large containers of shampoo and conditioner at BJ's, (he meant well), and I really don't like the way they leave my hair. Being thrifty, I don't want to just throw it away, but I can't think of what to use it for. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, shushu:

if you cant find any ways to use it , you might give it to the local homeless shelter or womens shelter im sure they would appreciate something like that.

Use it for shaving, and after you shower or bathe put it on your face and body instead of expensive moisturizers. I've been doing that for years. Works for me and I live in the desert.

YOu can also use some to make your own leave in conditioner, if you check out those bottles, they really just take regular conditioner and thin it out so it can be sprayed onto your hair. I often make my own when I am out, since I refuse to pay full price for the stuff, by taking 1 and 1/2 cups of conditioner and adding 1cup of water, shake well, and you are ready to go.

Re: Uses for conditioner.

Hi,

For the shampoo, which is usually like store bought soap, it's a detergent. So, if you can get ahold of one of those foaming-type bottles that they're now making dish soap in (maybe you already have one, check w/neighbors too!), you can put some shampoo, about 1/3 to 1/2 in the empty bottle, fill the rest "almost" up to the top w/purified water, and you've got foamy hand soap! The reason I say "almost' to the top is that the top itself it what makes the foam out of the diluted soap, and if you fill it all the way to the top, it will overflow - ask me how I know this! LOL Did it ...Twice
But, course this shampoo if you use it like this, will pretty much last forever. How did it leave your hair, or what specifically didn't you like about it? This might be really easily fixable...

Re: Uses for conditioner.

One thing I used to use conditioner for when my girls were kids is coat their hair real good with the stuff before they went swimming. Just coat their heads real thick with the conditioner and leave it in. It helps to keep your hair from getting burned by the combination of sun and chlorine.

Re-apply occasionally if you are spending the day at the pool.

You can also put some in a spray bottle, dilute 1/2 - 1/2 with water and use as a detangler for long hair.

I didn't know you could do this. Might give it a try.
