Hi,
This is from a great book that I use all the time, it's called Home Safe Home and it's got lots of great tips that are natural in it. So this is a quote:
By Debra Lynn Dadd - Quoted.
For Rugs and other things.
Blood - Gently sponge the stain w/cold water and dry with a towel. Repeat till stain is gone.
Grease - Cover the stain w/baking soda, rubbing lightly into the rug. Leave on for an hour, then brush off. Repeat as needed.
Grease and Oil - Cover stains w/cornstarch. Wait an hour, then vacuum.
Ink - Put cream of tartar on the stain and squeeze a few drops of lemon juice on top. Rub into the stain for a minute and brush off the powder with a clean brush and sponge immediately w/warm water. Repeat if needed.
If the ink is still wet, quickly put a mound of table salt on the wet spot. Let it sit for a few minutes, then brush it up. Continue to apply and remove till all the moisture is absorbed and the stain is gone.
Soot - Cover the stain thickly with table salt, then sweep carefully up.
Urine - Rinse w/warm water, then apply a solution of 3T white vinegar and one teaspoon liquid soap. Leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse and rub dry.
Hugs,
Kat
