energy + timesaver= no more ironing!

One thing I do to deter a high electricity bill is to no longer iron my clothes. Sounds great, doesn't it? Well if you hang your clothes on a hanger from the door of your bathroom while your taking a shower, the steam from the shower will straighten them; therefore you can forego ironing later. It’s a time and energy saver.

Cheers!
Matt

Thanks Matt... Great idea! I hang all my clothes outside to dry on the line. Being in AZ they're dry in about 3 minutes in the summer and a couple hours in the rest of the year!

Iron? What's that? LOL!

I have a nice iron, but we very rarely ever need it, just keep it in case, good for when Andy has to do job interviews or his internship and will have to dress professionally. I also have a small steam iron that I can use for quick touchups.

I loved the smell of clothes dried outside, but unfortunately, I can't do that anymore, so they all go in the dryer. With Andy's good shirts, to avoid shrinkage, I have learned to hang them to dry in the bathroom, then when they are dry, I toss them in the dryer with a dryer sheet for a few minutes to freshen them and dewrinkle.

My DH hung a clothesline inside our garage (CC&Rs prevent hanging outside) and in the summer the clothes dry really quickly. Once our dryer broke and I had no choice but to hang jeans, towels, etc. and they dried in a day. Probably saved a few $ that week!
