Cute gift for teachers, neighbors or stocking stuffer that was so easy and relatively inexpensive. Scent Jars: z Clear, Unscented Glycerin Soap1 teaspoon fragrance or essential oil 10 drops food coloring 3 4-oz jelly jars Melt soap in top half of double-boiler. As soon as it is melted, add fragrance and color then pour into jars. Let set for 6-8 hours. Place lid on jars. Open jars will lightly scent a room for several weeks. I made 12 jars for roughly $15 dollars. Went to Hobby Lobby and got 32 oz of soap for $7.99. Used essential oils I bought at Big Lots or Mother Nature.com for $1.00 each. Bought Clearance Christmas fabric for .50 cents to cover the lids and jelly jars at Ingles 12 for $5.00. Made Lavender, Strength (smells very clean), Refresh (minty smell) and Green Apple. They are so strong all together right now but it only took me about 30 minutes. Everything cleaned up easily because I was dealing with soap. I wanted to share this great idea- try it! I have bought the gel jars at Bath and Body Works for $5-7. I also have recipes for Bath Bombs (Fizzies) and Bath Salts that I will post. Plan to try those this weekend. Have fun! |
