| Tips on Grocery Shopping Saving Hi everyone! I found this great article at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] about grocery shopping. It gives some tips on how to save money when you go to the grocery store. Some of my favorites: -Plan your spending to avoid impulse buys like candy bars at the checkout or unnecessary snacks. -Grow your own fruits, nuts, and veggies or make it yourself to save! -Check the day old bread bin, and the reduced merchandise cart. -Ask for a rain check if an advertised special is out of stock. Look for more coupons for that product until it comes back in, you might save double! -Breads and rolls freeze very well so stock up at bread outlets. -Study the sales cycles of the stores you shop at, so you will know when to expect certain items to go on sale. -No store has the lowest price on all items; it will vary so be sure to investigate. That's just a snippet of the full article. I don't want to get in trouble for posting the whole thing, so check out the site if you want to see all of it! Happy shopping! Anyone have any others not in the article to add? I'm ALWAYS looking for new ways to save! ![]()

| Re: Tips on Grocery Shopping Saving I will read the article later (just about ready to go out grocery shopping!) My personal tips: Start a local coupon trading club amongst friends, neighbors, classmates, coworkers! The coupons that they throw out might be something you need! (and vice versa). Match coupons against sale items from store flyers. Some stores will price-match against competitors (I believe WalMart in particular does that) which can save on gas. Also find out which stores will take competitors' coupons - and sign up for any and all homemailers for additional savings! Carpool to the store whenever possible to save on gas money (here in CT it's just under $2.50 a gallon!). When visiting a store out of town make sure it's worth the trip - again, carpool! Always be prepared, take your coupons with you to the store. Many stores have unadvertised specials, especially ongoing ones for a few weeks at a time. Use a coupon binder or box to sort and store your coupons. I know of a website with a coupon decoder, but as it is a competitive deal site, it's probably not wise to post it here. You can pm me or email me for the website if you'd like!
