| Is this excessive? One thing that drive me nuts is...bar soap! I swear there are so many choices. I've tried lots of cheap soaps that STINK and are just nasty, but I finally found a basic, simple soap: Dial Pure and Natural! Anyways online I found a place that will sell a case of 500 bars of wrapped for $58. It comes out to about $.11 per bar! Ok now maybe that's crazy, but I go through about 1 bar of soap per week and the way I see...this would last me about..10 years! LMAO! I could also give some to my family (they swear by it). In you opinion, is this going overboard? [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

| Re: Is this excessive? I have "inherited" many bars of soaped -yes they were still wrapped!- from my mom and aunt recently and I could tell these bars were purchased around the 80's or so. They actually seem fine to use and are complied of many different brands (some of whom still exist!). My mother did tell me at one time that you can actually get a bar of soap (any brand) to last longer (while in use) if you take the wrapper off a couple of weeks before using it. Haven't tried this to see if it works though.. |

| Re: Is this excessive? Really? I might try that...I am still considering getting the soap! Even if they claim the shelf life is only 3 years I don't understand why they wouldn't last longer. Welcome to DOD gabrielle! |

| Re: Is this excessive? They are only 1.5 oz bars. The regular size is about 4.75 oz I think so it would come to $.36 per bar when comparing it to the size in the stores. I think you can get the 3 packs of the large bars in the store for $1-$1.50. Also I find there is a lot of waste when using the small bars like you have in hotel rooms.

| Re: Is this excessive? I've always heard that the older the soap is, the longer it lasts once you start using it. I think it has a shelf life of 3 years 'cause the perfumes go sour after that (but the soap would still 'work' as intended). Do you have the storage for it? CAn you split the order with someone? I say go for it. If you change your mind and choose a new favorite, you can donate the rest to a homeless shelter. |

| Re: Is this excessive? As some of you said if you open your soap and let it dry for several weeks before using it. Then it hardens or something and lasts longer. When I buy soap when I bring it home I just open all the ends and put it up with them open so I don't have to remember to do it later. I also have one of those nylon net things that you open up and put the small pieces of soap in to use every last sliver. Yes I am cheap.
