| Ideas for free or almost free gifts...list them here! I like the idea of coupons for services like babysitting. What else can we come up with...especially for kids who think they have to have a bunch of STUFF. __________________ Check out these [Only registered and activated users can see links. | Fleece - You can make a scarf or blanket pretty easily. Mittens, stockings or hats are a little more difficult to make (mybe not for a begininer, but it's a good idea. You don't have to sew the edges because it won't fray. Of course, make sure the fleece is on sale! Scrapbook / Picture Book - Why not create a memory for your child by making a book for the previous year (such as 2003). It can even be done for their childhood up to this point. You could include thier pictures, or various articles on important things that happened throughout the year. If you make it for just this year, don't forget to add a blank section for them to add their pictures from Christmas. This is something they will cherish for many years and it will make them remember everything that happened this year. Dress up clothes - are nice for little girls. These can be found at garage/yard sales. I remember playing dress up when I was younger. The sillier the hat, clothes, etc, the better. Hackey sacks - Teenage Boys like these and they can be purchased for a few dollars. Or, you can make them by following these instructions: Cut two pieces of fabric in the shape of an 8 without the holes in the center. The top of one eight should fit along the middle of the second eight. Hand-stitch the eights with right sides together, following the curves, leaving a small opening. Turn the right side out and fill with black-eyed peas or rice. Then, close the opening. __________________ Check out these [Only registered and activated users can see links.
