Hey everyone. It IS only October, but I thought we could get those holiday juices going a little early. I was just wondering if anyone had any good ideas for being frugal during Christmas time. Here are some excellent ideas for the frugal shopper: [Only registered and activated users can see links. For the neighbors: I bought very nice Pflatzgraff trays (on sale-inexpensive price) and will make home baked goodies to fill. I'm even saving on the baking. At my little *gig* we buy a small item to check in and a small item to check out. (They pay.) Sort of our time clock. Well, I sometimes buy the decorations for the cookies or cake mixes and such. Otherwise, not being that frugal this year. Just been buying things that I want when they are the best price. __________________ Check out these [Only registered and activated users can see links. I really liked the second link! ![]() Two frugal ways to save money on xmas gifts: 1. Examine your list of recipients and cross off a few OR draw names 2. Stay away from the mall I know that is not what you meant and I know that Christmas is a time for giving, but many people have a list a mile long and do they really need to give all of those people a gift? Drawing names in our extended family has saved money and TIME! Browsing at the mall can lead to serious impulse buying and over spending. Plus, don't you want to love giving someone something instead of feeling like it is a must do chore? ------- A neighbor gave me a small loaf of banana bread wrapped so cute in cellophane! I thought it was so nice and quite appropriate. ![]() My kids made ornaments for their teachers one year and they loved them! I know people always say that about the teacher gifts. Teachers are so gracious! But that year I was surprised at their reaction. I mean they weren't just saying they loved them....they REALLY did! lol ![]() I personally would LOVE to get coupons for back rubs or similar services. One year my then 10 yr old gave me a coupon for getting me a cup of coffee...anytime and as many times as I wanted. What a great gift! ![]() Let's get creative and start planning!! ![]() (THEN go to the mall to pick up the things you have decided on!) __________________ Check out these [Only registered and activated users can see links.
