I finally remembered to post my husband's textbooks from last year on half.com. Hopefully that will bring in a little cash. I'm trying to build up an emergency fund, since once school starts in Sept., we won't be putting much into savings. Full time kindergarten is EXPENSIVE!!

3tbear is welcome here
You know how tag sales usually have a box of FREE stuff? Well, I saved on shampoo and conditioner for my hair this month, got it free at a local tag sale. Cool deal huh? That's more money in my pocket right there.

august update

well, I have gotten my bank statement that takes me through august and thought i would report on how we did this month. Our checking is up a little under $600 but we got a check from the gov. for $1200 so that isnt that good. but i did have a few unexpected buys, like mattress' for the kids beds and glasses for my son which takes us close to $500. some of the extra money is from dh taking classes and i dont think he has gotten reimbursed from the last class yet. so, although i didnt stay in budger persay, my son can see and i can now change the sheets on my kids beds so i'm not too upset.

having a yard sale this month so hopefully will make a few hundred on that, have a lot of baby things to get rid of (crib, strollers, etc)

how did everyone else do for august??

karen

Red face

How did I do in August?

Hmmm, let's just say I'm waiting for my mystery shopping checks to come in and I'm trying to prepare meals from what I have in the pantry and freezer right now. There were WAY too many sales on meat and clothing last month!

My husband's atrocious dental bills didn't help either!

Unhappy I have been bad (I think)

Well, I didnt worry about August with Vacation & All.
September has been SO busy with Demo's and Mystery Shops that I don't know how I'm doing. Been spending most of my $ on Christmas and goodies. I MUST make up my own little finacial plan for my new found income. About $600 this month from my little *gigs*. Could drop down to $50 next month so guess I should go by %.

October I WILL be better!
I will plan on my own baby budget:

*Gas
*Spending/Xmas
*Family Budget Contribution

I need to get back in the groove.

early sept update

well, the month isnt over but i think we did pretty good. we had a neighborhood yard sale and I made $145!!! comes in handy. plus we signed to refinance last week and our payments are going down by over $200!! plus we will be getting $750 back and I complained the the mortgage company that the credit check they did was inaccurate and made us jump through unneccessary hoops, found a judgement against my hubby that was satisfied over 5 years ago but the info they got said it was still there but hubbies credit report didnt show it a week after the mortgage company got their report, bogus, so they are going to send up $25, plus we wont have an october payment. so as long as i didnt do a major mess up with spending we are ahead of the game for september and october will be good as well

plus after the yard sale i kept out some things to put on ebay so hopefully will get some more money that way.

also, dh's annual review comes up soon and he should get a 4 - 5% increase wooohooo

now have to start thinking about xmas.

karen
