Question How do you use Tofu?

Need ideas/recipes for tofu.
This will be the first time we have had it and need a way to fix it that will not turn the family off.

TIA

Tofu works great in stir-fry recipes. I've even seen it mixed in chicken stir-fry dishes. Mix it up with some vegetables, terriyaki sauce, and serve with white rice.

Here's a recipe similar to what I've tried:

Thumbs up Thanks I did a stir fry.

I mixed it with my homemade Mexican Seasoning, green peppers and onions. Used those Sun Dried Tomato Wraps, added cheese and a bit of low fat sour cream. YUMMY!

My dd is ticked at me for telling her AFTER she ate it.
But I figured it would be safe since she was asking for more.
Just have to work on their mindset.

LOL!

My ex-boyfried did that to me with calimari. I was enjoying it until he told me what it was.

I'm glad it turned out well! Your recipe sounds good!

Do you ever watch Food 911? Recently they did a show on Tofu. They talked about 3 different kinds. I wish I could remember all the details. ANyway, they made a fried "steak" like tofu and they made "egg salad" tofu. Everyone was surprised to find that it did taste like eggs! I can't remember the 3rd recipe..a soup maybe???

I don't make it, but I was more interested after watching the show.

Dh once made tongue and didn't tell us until we tried it! lol I thought it was a big roast!

several years ago, i tried a recipe that used tofu, you crumble it up and mix it with shredded mozzarella cheese, then you stuff it in canneloni pasta (precooked pasta) then bake it with spaghetti sauce and cheese on top. It actually went over pretty well, because the stuffing is just seen to be cheese.

I've eaten tofu my whole life. Here's my favorite way to eat it (but you have to like green onion!):

Rinse and drain the tofu (I like the firm tofu).
Cut it up into small cubes (about 1/2" cubes or so) and place a large handful-size of the cubes on individual serving plates.
Sprinkle with lots of sliced green onion.
Sprinkle liberally with soy sauce (Kikkoman or Yamasa soy sauce).

I know it sounds terrible, but if you like green onion, you will love this. Everyone I know that has tried it loves it, and it's addicting. Tofu is very good for you, it's very quick and easy to make, and is surprisingly filling. We especially love it for warm weather ... since it's so cold to eat.

Try it sometime!
