Question What Is The *MOST* Frugal Thing You Have Ever Done?

Don't be shy.

I'm trying to think what my best ever was.

Well, I'm new at this frugal thing so I'll say making my own all purpose cleaners.

I've saved on pet food!!!!!

I have cut my pet food bill in half! I have 4 cats and two dogs, you will need twice as many cats as you have dogs for this to work. I purchase plenty of cat food for the cats. I then turn my back and allow the dogs to sample the kittie steamers, tootsie rolls, cat pate, and I never have to buy dog food again! The gift that keeps on giving! The ultimate in recycling!!! And think of the money I am saving on kitty litter!

Gee, and the doggies seem to like it better than old roy!

Yes, I am just kidding, do not try this at home....

How about adding water to the shampoo bottle when the shampoo is nearly gone, just to get that last drop of shampoo out of there.

Sewing holes in the toes of pantyhose to get more wear from them.

Making Christmas ornaments from the tops of yogurt containers.

I recycle bar soap into liquid hand soap. I take the small left-over pieces of soap (that no one wants to use) and put them into an old liquid hand soap bottle mixed with a little water. As the water melts the soap it becomes creamy and pumpable. I will admit that it can look sort of gross at times if you use different soaps, but it works great.

I used to buy those expensive minute maid juice boxes for my husbands lunches. Now I buy juice in the large cans or bottles and refill small plastic ones. It is much cheaper (that is when he remembers to bring home the bottles!!)!

I think maybe I would consider this cheap and not frugal. I am almost embarrassed to tell you but this is my over the top money saver. (Please tell me if you are completely offended and disgusted by it).

We go to a lot of parades during the summer and fall. Thus having tons of candy in the house. My son (21/2) could care less about candy so we hand it out for Halloween. I do hand out other stuff (good stuff) mixed in but it sure saves us money. It also saves my waistline.

It is also the candy that I put on my front steps when we take our son to the 4 or 5 neighbors house's and end up chatting for a long time. This year when we came back (after 10 minutes) there was actually 3 pieces left in a 10 cup bowl. Not too bad huh?

This is actually from my mother.........(I used to be horribly embarrassed by it)! When I was in high school, our yard got rolled on a pretty regular basis this time of year. My mom would actually collect the toilet paper from the yard and put it in a paper bag next to the commode and expect us to "use" it!!! LOL She did at least let me hide it when friends came over!

Cool Some of those were quite creative.

I guess my most frugal adventure included my huge Rosemary plant back in WA.

From that Rosemary I:

*Made hair conditioner that dd just loved.
*Made tea.
*Dried and gave as gifts.
*Baked & cooked with it - of course.
*Smoked it. LOL--yes, if you dry it out just right you can smoke it.
No, no buzz. Just a kind of nice taste that leaves your breath pretty fresh.

Maybe I shouldnt have told that last one.
