Frugal alternative to Biore strips?

Does anyone know of a frugal solution to those Biore nose strips? I really like the strips, but they are too expensive.

I have read about a knox gelatine concoction--I tried it, didn't work

One cheap alternative that I've heard but been too chicken to use is Elmer's White Glue. Just paint it on in a very thin layer, let dry & rip it off.

One of my DD's friends has done this with the glue & she said it worked much better than the strips but it did hurt a bit. Supposedly it's what they use at some of those salons!

I wonder if it would work.....wonder if dh will let me try it on him first (he does check the milk to see if it's okay this is sort of the same, I think)

I bet those fancy shmancy salons charge a bundle for Elmer's too. I heard awhile back that they use clay kitty litter for their masks/treatments. I'd take glue over kitty litter any day.

i will let you know if I work up the courage to do it myself.....or if dh can be wrangled into testing it out couldn't hurt any more than the strip itself, I am thinking....maybe.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on beauty treatments and I found a kitty litter mask at home has been the best few dollars I ever spent! You get plain old kitty litter (no crystals or clumps or anything) grind it up in the blender to a fine powder add water and apply to your face. It is the hardest mask I have EVER used and it leaves my skin sooooo smooth! If you think about it, all kitty litter is, is CLAY!

It must be working, I am 26 years old and was IDed for beer at our state fair a few weeks ago, the man said "sorry miss, but you could pass for 15 easy!"

duct tape.....lol

I haven't had the nerve to try the kitty litter mask yet....but I actually tried the elmer's glue mask.....I didn't find it any more painful than ripping those biore strips off...both kinda hurt...my face is softer, though

hahah! I was going to post duct tape too!

But I see someone already did it LOL

I tried the Biore samples and I really think duct tape would have been gentler!!!

Never again!

So if you see a blackhead on me, deal with it, at least I'm not hunched over in pain going OW OW OWWW

Ok it took us some time but my dd and I finally got over the ewwwwwwww kitty liiter gross thing and decided to try the kitty litter mask. Our first attempt was rather unpleasant, no matter what....wet kitty litter smells like wet kitty litter LOL so the second time around we got creative and used warm herbal tea to moisten the litter and we also added a bit of honey to the tea. Well let me tell you our skin never felt better and it is now a twice a week girls night for us, we do our facials, plucking when necessary *we're still not brave enough to try the homemade nads*LOL, nail painting etc...
It's nice that we found an inexpensive way to spend time together and catch up on the week! Even if it's with litter on our faces LOL
