I agree, I've gotten some good recipes from here. I've made some of these, and planning on making some of the others since I'm going to be starting my new job soon....

I'd like it too, and have also found some good recipes and I 'do' freeze things, so making more of things always helps. Since we all come from all over the country here, we'd be sure to get great regional recipes from other states that we wouldn't even know about if not for here. ---> going to check recipes....lol Kat

I found this recipe on a website & my boyfriend & I loved it!! It was almost better the next day after it sat and soaked up flavors. I am making this & taking it when we go visit my grandma and grandpa out of town next week. I used less onion b/c TJ doesn't like it much & I also didn't add the Italian seasoning until after the meat was cooked and drained b/c I rinse mine to get out the grease. Cabbage is also super cheap in my town...like $.40/pound. ![]() Unstuffed Cabbage 3/4lb lean ground beef 1 medium yellow onion 1 pkt. GOOD SEASONS Zesty Italian Salad Dressing & Recipe Mix 1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes 8 cups shredded cabbage (about 1 lb.) 1 cup water 1 cup MINUTE Brown Rice, uncooked BROWN meat and onion with dressing packet in large skillet or Dutch oven on medium-high heat 4 to 6 minutes or until meat is cooked through. ADD tomatoes and cabbage; stir. Reduce heat to simmer; cover tightly. Cook 20 to 25 minutes or until cabbage is tender. STIR in water and rice; bring to boil. Cover; reduce heat and cook 5 minutes. Remove from heat; stir and cover. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. |

This isn't a ground beef recipe but this is also another recipe I found and tried within the last couple of weeks and it was soooo good! TJ & I again loved this & as a test we took it to his work and people were coming for seconds and asking for the recipe. One lady TJ works with asked for the recipe, made it, and took it to some family function-her whole family hounded her for the recipe. You could also modify it by putting choclate sauce on top, cherries, strawberries, or other things that go well w/ a banana split.***When I made this I personally used fat-free cream cheese & no one could tell @ all. I also didn't have white sugar when I made this so I used brown sugar in the crust and in the cream cheese mixture and it was AWESOME! I almost think it tasted better then white sugar would have. Just some ideas. Brown sugar seemed to add a great flavor.1-1/2 cups Graham Cracker Crumbs 1-1/4 cups sugar, divided 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted 2 pkg. (8 oz. each) Cream Cheese, softened 1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple, drained 6 medium bananas, divided 2 cups cold milk 2 pkg. (4-serving size each) Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling 2 cups thawed Whipped Topping, divided 1 cup Chopped Pecans MIX crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar and butter; press firmly onto bottom of foil-lined 13x9-inch pan. Freeze 10 min. BEAT cream cheese and remaining 1 cup sugar in bowl with electric mixer until well blended. Carefully spread cream cheese mixture over crust; top with pineapple. Slice 4 of the bananas; arrange over pineapple. POUR milk into large bowl. Add dry pudding mixes. Beat with wire whisk 2 min. or until well blended. Stir in 1 cup whipped topping; spread over banana layer in pan. Top with remaining whipped topping; sprinkle with pecans. Refrigerate 5 hours. Just before serving, slice remaining 2 bananas; arrange over dessert. |

okay here's one for you. How about stuffed hamburgers. you take and make two ground meat patties ( like hamburger patties) put whatever seasoning you like in it. Sauttee some onions, mushrooms, bell pepper, green peppers, or whatever you want put that on one side of one of the patties cover with chedder cheese and mozzerella cheese or whater cheese you fancy. Put the top pattie on and grill. I prefer the bbq pit , but you can do it in a frying pan too. It's good and it saves you ![]() Just thought of another one you can buy a chef boyardee pizza kit. It comes with parmesan cheese and pizza dough and pizza sauce. You can fry the ground beef and put it onn the pizza with some pepperoni's You can have hamburger pizza. ANOTHER GOOD RECIPE THAT'S NOT GROUND BEEF You take chicken breasts and cut them in half horizontally so you have a top and a bottom. you put pepperoni and cheese in the middle and use toothpicks or string to hold it together tightlly and fry it. it's good

| Ground Beef Casserole
Here is a standard at our house. Brown 1 lb ground beef with celery, garlic and onions; add two cans of diced tomatoes with juices. Add a little worchestire sauce and pepper. Combine in a 9 x13 pan with half a box (that's 1/2 pound) of slightly firm cooked macaroni/ Add about 8 oz of shredded cheddar cheese. Cover and bake at 350 around 30 minutes.

I buy $10.00 logs of ground beef at Kroger and can easily split them up into 14 different meals so I am the queen of ground beef. A good percent of the time, when the recipe calls for 1 pound, I use a half of a pound if there's carbs in it like noodles. You really can't tell the difference. I also don't measure. I've been cooking for a long time and I don't really need to anymore. These are pretty kid friendly. If it looks gross, do what my mom did and buy food coloring. I seriously ate purple mac and cheese. Beefy Noodles Egg noodles Brown gravy - Make it kind of thick (you can also make this but I think it's cheaper to buy the $.50 packages) Beef. BBQ cheeseburgers is different than the norm. Plain tacos I'm not sure if this would be good though since I grow a lot of veggies in my apartment and get them for nothing. Cheeseburger casserole It's just cut up potatoes, Velveeta and beef. Mac and cheese, beef and less than 1/2 tbls of barbecue sauce depending on your like for bbq sauce. Salsa is also a good alternative. Meatloaf I just put cheese and bacon in it. |

For this recipe all you need is a box of beef rice mix similar to Rice A roni I buy mine at dollar general or the real stuff if it is on sale and I have a coupon. Brown your hamburger until it is just cooked don't overcook it and drain all but about 2 tablespoons of grease out and throw in the rice in the same pan leaving the hamburger in the pan and brown the rice when the rice is browned follow the directions on the package added the water and seasoning package cook until water is absorbed. For bigger families add more rice or two boxes of rice. My guys lov it and it is quick to fix I serve it with vegetables and some kind of bread or rolls. |

For this recipe you need 1/2 to 1 box elbow noodles, Italian sausage spaghetti sauce, the kind I buy is in a can either Hunt's or Delmonte brand I can't remember which. hamburger, and either mozzerella or cheddar cheese, brown hamburger and cook noodles when cooked place both in a 9x13 baking pan then pour Italian sausage spaghetti sauce over the top and mix in. Add cheese to top about 15 minutes before finished baking. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes. You can also add kidney beans if you like. Imake this and take it to potlucks everyone likes it. |

| Re: Ground beef recipes
Favorite thing to make with ground beef = TACOS. Not just any old tacos though. I like healthy, flavorful tacos, so I add semi-fine chopped veggies to the pan when i'm cooking up the beef: zucchini, spinach, peppers and of course onions are the veggies that add the flavor I like and also make the taco meat more moist. An added bonus is that it stretches out your beef to make nearly twice as many tacos!!! A side note, it's interesting that the original post was 7 years ago, and here we are once again in a "tight" time when threads like this are a great help. 7-year-cycle anyone? |

Here are some I make alot and I swap out ground meat types which gives a little differnt flavor Stir fry with noodles In a fry pan brown ground meat - add 1 package of stirfry veggies from the freezer section (or use what you have from the garden). When these are almost done add about 1 ½ cups water bring to boil. Crush 1 or 2 (will need more water) packages of oriental flavor raman noodles add them and seasoning packet(s) to meat & Veggie mixture. Cover and let cook for a couple minutes until noodles are tender. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What we have always called “Spanish Rice” Brown ground meat with onions and peppers. Add cooked Rice* (I make a big batch of Brown rice in the oven or crock pot then divide into smaller portions and freeze), Salsa or canned tomatoes and some mexican spice blend. . If you use white rice add it along with extra water when adding your tomatoes and cook in that juice. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tomato mac n cheese supper Brown ground meat with onion and garlic - can add in sliced celery and pepper too. Add a couple cups of water and a can of tomatoes or stewed tomatoes or salsa. Bring to boil. Add in a package of the cheep Mac N Cheese noodles. Cook until most of the juice is absorbed then add in the “cheese” packet which will thicken the sauce, stir quickly or you will get lumps. |
