? about SS

Everytime that i visit SS i always have the same smaples. I never have anything new..why is that? did i sign up wrong? everyone always posts diff samples and says hurry to get it and and thier never there....is there something wrong with my comp? i am so lost.

i think it just depends on where you are, icemaiden. i notice too, i don't have all the samples some people have, but they eventually come around. don't lose hope!

I get offered lots of freebies - I have a very large and extended family under one roof. My daughter only enters herself and doesn't get offered much. I guess the larger (and more age varied your family) the more you get offered.

I have a small family and get alot of samples - I think it depends on how much you participate in their site... Answering surveys, refering people etc...

You can access your acount and change things so I changed mine to to say I was married and I have a kid in ever age bracket. Just incase I am being cheated out of samples

I think it's regional, and they do all areas of the country but not all at once, depending on the company. I have a friend with a very similar profile but 2,000 miles away, and we don't always have the same offers at the same time.

Also, Icemaiden, try refreshing your screen when you get there. Sometimes that helps. Hit F5 to refresh is the easiest way I do it.
I have alot of tryer miles at SS and am getting close to getting a big prize. I sometimes think I don't see many cause they want to slow me down a little....LOL That may not be the case but it sure seems like it sometimes..lol I have 10 samples showing on the page but hardly ever see them open.

I feel your pain. There are several things you can do to increase your chances.

1. Make sure your're logged in. My sample OPTIONS [not neccessarily available] tripled when I surfed in under my nickname versus anonymously.

2. Download & add the SS "dot" from [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] which will allow you to instantly check if a sample is available.

3. I read on another board that samples are more likely to be given out between 9am-11am EST with 10am being the BEST time to check. Worth a try!

4. I never win at the SS contests despite having the right answers. I noticed recently you can enter as many times as you want. So give it a shot! Good luck!!!

I'm an avid startsampling fan and have gotten a couple prizes from them for getting points. I have noticed that I seem to get more samples late at night than during the day, and I check back at least 4 or 5 times a day. I think they just go by your region, because there really isn't a whole lot of information that you give them, just if you have kids or pets, so that you don't get those if you don't need them. Also remember you can get points for reading about the samples (15 each) and you get 10 points a day for just logging in. Be patient with the site, I admit it can be frustrating at times!

I noticed yesterday that when I filled out a survey it said this will help them decide which samples to offer me. Make sure to fill out the samples so that they can place you in demographics. I had about 7 choices yesterday, DH's account only had 3. I notice that alot of the items other DOD'ers post arn't available on my screen. Probably geographic demographics as well as family size and surveys.
