I really appreciate this post. This stuff works great! After all........who really uses up a half-gallon of buttermilk before it goes bad??? Not ME!!! I don't cook with it THAT much!! This turns regular milk into buttermilk! WOW..what a lifesaver. Thanks again!!

ME! Actually just a quart, not a half gallon, but I periodically mix up a huge batch of mom's recipe for bran muffins, because the batter freezes well and keeps in the fridge for weeks, then I can nuke a fresh muffin any old time, including school mornings when I'm hustling to catch the train. Never drink buttermilk straight but I did request a sample, just because...
