A whole week ..... that sounds great. Here in Texas we get one weekend which of course results in the stores being a complete madhouse. I wish we had a whole week - would be nicer - less time standing in line

Thanks for the reminder! Pensacola is only a 30 minute drive for me and I try to do some back-to-school shopping during this time every year. Alabama doesn't do this, unfortunately, so I take my spending to Florida!

We never pay tax on clothing,sneakers etc. here but it would be nice to have school supplies and other items included in that tax free!

We save our gift certificates all year from playing
surfing for points sites and cash them in during
tax free week for school clothes. Today we got
150.00 worth of clothes ! We still have l00.00
more in gift certifcates to spend next week !Plus
if you shop at the outlets you make the deal
sweeter !

Actually, if you look on myflorida.com, you will see that the tax-free week in Florida is from July 22nd through July 30th. This site will also show what the limits are on different items, and a list of tax exempt items. By-the-way, Yeah Florida, for giving us this help with our finances!

Now that I've moved back home to CT, from living in Florida for over 3 years, I do remember the tax-free weeks, but in CT, we don't pay tax on clothing and shoes and things like that - we "do" pay it on school supplies. Plus we have the state income tax here, guess they just like to tax us!
Pensalcola??? That used to be a really nice beach--we used to go there YEARS ago, when I also lived in Alabama. But where we lived in Florida was lots closer to Daytona than Pensacola.
Now that I'm back here, there aren't any beaches like Florida has... oh well!
