UGH...dreary here too Lisa..totally UNlike last week..sniff, sniff Oh well, some of the finer things in life are sometimes too short lived LOL!

Today I received Meta-Sure Diet and Energy Enhancer (4 caplets)..I think I have received this about 4 times now?!?! Maybe someone is trying to tell me I have enjoyed all the past holiday feasts too greatly..or maybe just too many PB M&M's...lol! Ahhh, what the heck...16oz. of goodies equals somewhere close to a weeks worth of "melts in your mouth and not in your hands" short-lived bliss..I'll worry about repercussions next week when the bag is empty! LOL!

More free books, turns out their from a group called quality paperback books. I didn't sign up with them (always keep good records) and now they are sending me a bill. It's my understanding you don't have to pay for unsolicited materials. I called them and said I didn't order these, they said I should go to the post office and mail them back at my expense. I'd kind of like to keep them, and I certainly don't want to spend money to mail them back, and since they made the mistake I don't think I'm going to send them back. I'm going to check the rules on the unsolicited mail thing, but I'm pretty sure I'm right. Does anyone know for sure?

I finally recevied the Fox News mug that I signed up for months ago. Thats all today, unless you want to count the credit line increase from Capitol One--I don't want to count that--I already owe them tooooo much

ugh, quality paper back book club! i've dealth with them and they are no fun! they did sent me a return to sender postage paid mailer, you just gotta spend your money calling them long distance and being put on hold...

also, this will probably happen to, they will say they never received your return, their mailing address is so funky (they claim to own the whole zipcode so they don't have a street?!?!?!)..... i joined the club of my own will and did get a great deal on my 4 free books + s/h but i ordered some, attempted to cancel order, they came anyway, they sent me pre-paid label, and they never got the books, thank god i got them to cancel my membership, i was mad! cuz i also sent them a check for probably under $20 for my first intro shipment which again they never got so i had to call up and give them my CC #s.... argh! anyway, good luck!

Actually they do give increases. I remember when I first got the card after about 6 months I called and asked for one, belive it or not, they gave it to me, can't remember how much, but they did. I've had the card for 2-3 years now, and this is the only other time I have received anything re: an increase. This time I didn't even ask for it. GIve 'em a call if you want an increase, you just may get it

Sent in order form for a free 6 piece set of Farberware knives & a wooden block to store them in from the State of NC for employee appreciation (was shocked they would send us the order forms because they are lost so much $$ following Hurricane Floyd)

Thanks for the info. i had a feeling this was going to be a mess...I called the post office and spoke to one of the postal inspectors...according to him, you have no obligation to pay for or return any unsolicited mailings, and if they don't respect that it's mail fraud. i'm going to keep the books, and if they harrass me i'll tell the post office and the BBB. i'm not going to waste my time or money on this, and i'm going to enjoy the free books. urk.
