Our mailman has noticed the increased amount of mail we are getting, and has suggested we rent a mail box for all our stuff.

I said, I thought you would be glad to have so much work!
He replied: i work for the government, I have it made!
I said, by the way...Do you have any of those customer satisfaction cards with you you can spare, I do not want to drive to the PO today..
He replied : No, sorry, i dont think they are available anymore...
I said, thats ok, i'll just go, see my friend Marty at the PO, (he is the supervisor for the Area)
He said nothing, and walked away quietly...

Actually the best freebies happened today when I took the kids to visit the Hebert Chocolate factory in MA
We got a free tour with lots of free chocolate. On top of that they got to pick a stick for a prize match up. They all won either and icecream sundae or cone. Since we didn't have much money to spend this school vacation, this was the ultimate freebie day. I did buy a few pieces of half price valentine candy as we left- I felt I had to do something.

DarthVader, I love it! They should be thankful for that wonderful job! Don't they realize there are people walking 2 miles to work at McDonald's to feed their family??? Ugh! Some people!

I got 3D washable paint pens from Elmer's Products Inc.!!! and a few catalogs and the 2001 consumer guide book I think that was it for my freebies today! Hope my oreo cookies show up! and where did you get the lollipops????

I can't believe you said that about the walking to McDonald's thing. There is a lady on my street who does this very thing--EVERYDAY--rain, snow, sleet and hail! I had noticed her walking all the time, and one day I noticed her at Mickey Dee's working. I actually offered her a ride once and sadly she declined, not sure why, but she did. I happened to clock it, just to see how far she was walking, and it was 1.8 miles. You are sooo true. More people should be THANKFUL for what they have, it could be a lot worse!!

Oh how awful for her...
My sister did that for a year until she was able to buy a used car...it was 10 yrs old and not in great shape but she was so happy you would think she had just gotten a Lexus!
She did take the bus when she had the extra dollar but that wasn't often. Nobody ever offered her a ride...snow...rain...freezing temps...she was always sick with a cold.
But I told her, be thankful for the legs to walk to work, some do not have that. It is all perspective and being content, no matter what.
I have known people who would give you their last dime, if need be, and never look back. That is how I was raised. I have known rich people who won't give you a quarter for a phone call. I wish there were more justice in this world, but until then, I will be content.
