EDIT: I've heard rumors that only 10 people out of all who sign up will be selected, but it doesn't say anything about that anywhere on the site. Doesn't hurt to sign up, I suppose.

I wouldn't worry about that being a possibility - the site makes it clear that it's for everyone who signs up and follows the guidelines.
