Important Rule Change: EVERYONE PLEASE READ!

I have just spoken with a gentleman regarding a link from their business site that was posted on here for a free sample for restaurant bags.

This created severe problems for them, they lost 2 days worth of leads and production trying to sort out the bogus sign-ups from the legitimate ones.

Now, I know we are not the only site that has this link posted, however, I cannot do anything to prevent their link being posted on other sites. I am however hoping that no one from here signed up with bogus information just to create more work for their employees and try to get a freebie for which they were not entitled.

I have removed the post and assured the gentleman that we will NOT permit it to be posted here on our site again. Causing people problems is not the intent of our site.

We also do not condone freebie abuse. If you are not entitled to received a freebie, such as one intended for a business if you do not have a business, then you should not sign up.

Any further postings of the offer I mentioned above will be removed immediately!! We will also remove any posts that encourage cheating to get a freebie.

Hrm..Wow I don't even remember seeing the post in the first place. But that sounds horrible. Its almost scary how these offers do spread, and when its these poor little businesses that take the blow its kinda sad.

Well again..I'll try to be more careful in the future about what I'm posting and or signing up for. I certainly don't plan to be part of some scheme that ends up taking income away from some poor working family so I can get something free.

Thank you KittyMom, it is great that we have such understanding members.

This poor guy was so upset, his salesman spent 2 days culling through over 400 leads from the sample sign-ups, only to find that 375 of them were completely bogus sign-ups.

Thanks, I guess we really don't know what we do some times to a small buisness that is just trying to make a go of it. I too don't remember the post, but I will be more careful when signing up for freebies.

I do not believe in cheating or lieing for anything, especially something free. Life is too short to be dishonest. my sympathy goes out the company that had the hard ship.
