| Hi, UPDATE - added Dove shampoo and conditioner to the page, also still have the Nexxus, and a couple coupons. [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] This is yet another Nexxus sample and a couple others too - it's done by start-sampling, but at a different website, instead of Walmart. Same thing, you click and the window opens, but instead of first doing your information, you click - get sample and then put in your info. It went through fine - this may be a site to keep checking like we do w/Walmart. They also have Dove and a couple others, the others are coupons. ** There is a place at the top where you're supposed to enter your pathmark card number, but if you don't have one, you can still get the samples. Not more than 18 cents? That's amazing! Once again, like everything else, I have to buy all-natural shampoo, the good thing is it's from one of my wholesalers, as I'd never be able to get it in the store. I take these samples to the Food Pantry and people really love them!Gee... in your spare (yea, right! lol), time you should give us a little online class so we can not spend more than 18 cents too!!!!!!!!!!!! YaHAHA, tell us your secrets! ROFL Hugs, Kat ![]()

| Re: Another Free Nexxus Sample Site LOL! I have actually done some online articles, as well as some old posts on here, to help people learn the tricks to couponing. My rule when I go shopping to get a big grocery order each month is to make my average total come out to no more than $1 an item. Before I started couponing, we used to go to the store, fill a buggy, and spend around $300, because DH and I are picky, so there are certain generic items we will just not buy no matter how cheap they be! Anyway, no I go in and fill a whole cart and usually spend from $100 to $150, so I have managed to cut our grocery bill in half, and that is just the items from the grocery store for my big main order each month, that does not include what I get free or for pennies from other stores that I visit when I see a good deal. Anyway, some serious tips for those that might be interested: Forget brand loyalty. For instance, pasta is pasta, once you cook it and throw some sauce or something on it, no one knows what brand was on the package you opened. So, always shop for the cheapest, sometimes this is a name brand with store sales and coupons, sometimes it is the generic, but it all tastes the same in the end. Now, I know that some generics are really bad, like coffee, ketchup, toiletpaper, dishsoap, and etc. You end up using so much that you really don't save any money, because you go through it all twice as fast. So you have to shop practically, if the generic or store brand of Ketchup (Catsoup as I like to call it when I pick on my boys! LOL!) is say 79¢ but since it is so watery and bland, you have to add twice as much to your food for it to taste right, and of course you squeeze it onto your plate and it is so runny that you get way more out than you wanted, and it gets scraped into the garbage or rinsed down your sink drain. So if you buy one bottle a month, which is considered the average for the "normal" shopper, you run out fast, the generic/store brand of ketchup only lasts these "normal" households for 2 weeks, so to get enough ketchup you have to buy to bottles or a larger size and spend more money, two of the size priced around 79¢ would then be $1.58. I find the same sized bottle of the name brand, either Hunts or Heinz, both excellent products in my opinion, in most of my stores for around $1.49 each, so we are already 9¢ cheaper just with the regular prices. But then, if you have a coupon, and shop at store that doubles, you can save even more. Hunts, especially in the Summer and Fall for picnic and barbecue season, usually puts out coupons for 35¢ off, so I can double that to take 70¢ off, making the Hunts the same price as the generic. Now, to save even more, the trick is to get ahold of as many of those coupons as you can, either by trading online, or with friends and family, and stock up while you can get it so inexpensively. Plus, if you wait a little while and don't use all your coupons right away, you can usually match them with a store special, during the Summer and Fall, for the same reasons the coupons come out in the Sunday inserts, most stores around here will put the ketchup on sale as a "loss leader". They use the "loss leaders" to draw people into the store, the larger percentage of people don't use coupons, but they will grab a few bottles of the ketchup on sale, and while they are in the store, they can be lured to buy other items at regular prices. Very smart marketing practice for the stores. So, even though the store takes a loss on what they had to pay to bring that ketchup to their shelves, almost no one just runs in, grabs a bottle of ketchup, and leaves the store, over 98% of people will also grab at least 3 to 4 other items. That is why, so many name brand, more expensive products, which are not on sale are kept at eye level, so someone just quickly running in will have their attention caught by something. Same reason for those items they keep up by the registers, these almost always have a markup from 200% to 400% on the wholesale price, and they call them "Impulse Items," because that is exactly how it works, people impulsively grab something that catches their attention, like that chocolate bar they suddenly had a craving, that pack of gum for their dry mouth, that magazine with the interesting article they glanced at while standing in line and waiting their turn, or that cold drink to revive the hot, tired shopper. (Notice most cashiers are trained to ask if you want those drinks left out, so you can open it right away?) However, we coupon freaks, will hit that sale with our coupons, and a lot of times since it is a "loss leader," the Hunts Ketchup will be around 99¢, so with our coupon doubled, we can stock up on Hunts for 29¢ a bottle. 12 bottles is approximately a years worth for the "average" household. As long as the bottles are unopened, they last a long, long time, in your pantry at home. So, instead of full price for 12 bottles over the course of the year, which would be $17.88, or a years worth of the generic at 79¢ a bottle, which equals $9.48, we couponers have gotten our years worth for just $4.68. A pretty nice savings, now picture if you do that for most of the products you buy that you can get coupons on, soaps, shampoos, peanut butter, jelly, breakfast foods, cereals, frozen foods and etc. My average coupon savings is around $1500 dollars a year, by shopping carefully to match my coupons with the various sales. So forget favoring one brand over another, or buying generics, the smart shopper who clips each Sunday, can save a lot more on whichever name brand is on sale. I know, sometimes, as in your case, you just can't use some of the store stuff or certain brands, but if you save enough money on the other things that you do buy in the store, you will easily find yourself still buying what you need while at the same time not spending as much as you used to on all of your household needs. I am allergic to certain soaps, fragrances and etc, so are Andy and Tom, so there are some things I can't buy no matter how cheaply I could get them, but with all I am saving on everything else, I more than make up for what I had to spend on the stuff I can't skimp on. Many people wonder, how we can sit here and eat name brands all the time, and have steak on the grill so often, when we are on a fixed, low-income, and we get the bare minimum help from the state for anything. When I am saving so much, I can buy the steak, fish, good low-fat meat cuts and etc, and I am still not spending as much as I used to, before I learned to coupon. Now, as to the shampoo, I know a lot of people like fancy brands or salon brands, but in you read the label on many of them, the ingredients are the same as something like Suave or VO5. Coupons often come out for both of those brands that are 50¢ off, and the products often go on sale for 99¢ each, so a freebie with the double coupon. By stocking up, I also avoid running out and having to pay full price, because we need it right then, and there isn't a sale going on or current coupons to use. Andy gets dandruff if he uses regular shampoos, so he needs a good medicated shampoo. When we got together, he always preffered Pert Plus Dandruff Control, but of course, growing up, his family always had the money to buy it for him, he quickly learned how expensive it can be in relation to a fixed income. Since that one rarely results in free or penny purchases, I looked at the active ingredient as well as the inactives, and found that the L'orealVive Dandruff for men is almost exactly the same. Now, it goes on sale a lot as a buy one/get one item, and quite a few stores that have it in their computers to ring each one as half-price, will also let you use coupons on both items, even though one is supposed to be "free." L'Oreal also frequently puts out coupons that can be doubled for 75¢ off any of their Vive products. Giant Eagle, in the town where my husband goes to school, has the best regular price for the Vive at $3.18 a bottle, then by picking it up and using my coupons, I spent 18cents for every two bottles I picked up. I did the same thing with L'Oreal Kids shampoos for my son. They split the price, so each bottle was $1.59 and they let will let you use a coupon on each one, so with my coupon doubled, I was taking $1.50 off of each bottle. I shop like this for many of the items that we use all the time, that are non-perishable such as toiletry items, condiments, side dishes, pastas, and etc. Another thing you have to know is that on non-perishable items like canned goods, toothpastes, mouthwash, condiments, pastas, side dish mixes, cake mixes and etc. the expiration date is actually just a sell-by date for the store, this is the date that the manufacturer can still be certain that the item is at its best quality and provides the best results for what it is supposed to do. It takes a long time, years in some cases, for these types of items to break down and be unusable. Toothpaste for instance, does not start to break down until 18months after the expiration date, even then, it is not bad or dangerous to use, it actually just starts to seperate out, and if it is the type in a tube, you can still use it by just kneading the tube to mix the ingredients back together, prior to putting some on your toothbrush. Mouthwash, bodywash and stuff that is liquid in bottles will just need shaken up when it starts to settle out. Some stuff, like Tylenol, toothpaste, medicated shampoos and etc. will start to lose some efficacy after a few years, so you can still use it if you have it on your shelf or in your cupboard, you just might need to use a little extra to get the effective amount. So there is no need to toss the stuff. Even prescription meds do that same thing, they don't get dangerous, there are only a few that do, one being the antibiotic Erythromycin, when it breaks down it is toxic to your liver and kidneys, but any other antibiotics, pain pills, allergy meds or whatever, can be kept for future usage, you might just have to double up on the dose for an effective amount. The one year date that they put on most prescription labels for tablets or capsules, that are very stable anyway, like I mentioned above, is just a date they can be sure it is still at its peak quality. For baking items and cereals, which I know sometimes get those wonderful bugs in them, you can simply place them in a plastic bag (to prevent dampness) in your freezer for 24 hours, it will kill any of those eggs that are left in there during the manufacturing process, and then you can keep stuff that is still sealed for an indefinite period of time on your shelves and still use it all. So it is all a matter of knowing how the expiration dates work when you stock up on something, and smart bargain shopping. |

| Re: Another Free Nexxus Sample Site VER-- LOVED, LOVED LOVED YOUR LAST POST HERE. It was like talking to myself, sistahfriend! lolololol For those of you near Pathmark stores---not only do they have double coupons everyday BUT---at least 2 times a yr they have one week of TRIPLE COUPONS!! (up to 99c!!) My friend and I KILL at these times!! lol We go thru ALL our coupons and pull out ALL our coupons for 99 cents and under (dollar coupons are "worthless" these weeks lmao) Then we go up and down the aisles matching our coupons to the items and doing quick tallies. If a product comes our to 30 or 40 cents or less and we use it...it's bought. Imagine...EVERY item selling for say...$2.19, with a 75 cent coupon is FREE. My best was spending over $300 and after coupons....around $70!! <<<fanning myself...I'm getting lightheaded just remembering.....GRIN Last edited by verwon; 08-03-2006 at 03:01 PM. |

| Re: Another Free Nexxus Sample Site Hi, We've got a couple stores around here (not Pathmark), that do the triple coupon thing too, every now and then. Once, a store did a triple the $1.00 coupons - I think, up to 7. And those they don't even usually double, so that was really good. Another store, right in town (we have two), does the buy-one-get-Two free and if you've got coupons, you really are getting them for nothing. *I love that! Then, the other store in town had a coke sale, the 12 pack fridge packs - 4 for $10.00, plus a free 24 pack of bottled water, PLUS, a mail-in from Coke for $10.00! Got that *all* free. I don't know about where you live, but there's a library in the next town over that people put tons of coupons in and you can just sit and go through them and take whatever you want. ![]() Bet we'd have a ball going grocery shopping all together, though the store we went to may not want to see us again!!!!!
