| Please help me with my stammering?
Hi, I am a 19-year-old female, and I stammer. I do not stammer a lot, I only stammer on certain words - which mainly start with c, d, g, s, t, w (there might be others that I have not mentioned). The worst part is that my surname starts with one of those letters, so in class, I worry that a teacher might ask me what my surname is, or someone might phone and ask for my surname, and then I will stammer. Hmm. Maybe you can try practicing saying these words out loud or to yourself every now and then. Practice makes perfect is what they say. As for stress causing your stammering, it could be a reason. All I can really say about that is to not think about it too much. But I know that's easier said than done. But I think more importantly, you have to believe you can do it. Believe in yourself and you will be able to overcome your problem. Good luck! HWM |
