Wink Homemade Facial Cream

Hi,
Here's a recipe for anyone, especially the person who requested it, for homemade face cream.

Mango Face Cream

3 Tablespoon Mango Butter
1 Tablespoon Almond Oil
2-3 drops essential oil of lavender, or other of choice.
.5% presevative.

This is a wonderful face cream. It is pure oils so you barely use any on your face. When I use it, I first put it on my hands and rub it in a little bit, then I rub my face. That is the perfect amount. We get so used to using commercially prepared creams and lotions that are mostly water and filler. The preservatives used in commercially prepared creams tend to be over-used, so for example, instead of there being .5% of preservative in the product, there may well be a whole lot more. Since the recommended highest usage it is 1%, and you might be putting triple that or more on yourself, that is not good for you or your skin.
The commercially prepared facial products and/or creams will also be artificially fragranced, so you won't be getting anything natural from that either - essential oils are made from either steam, cold pressing, CO2 or hydro/diffusing of a plant or a plant part, so they are from nature, not from mixture of chemicals.

Melt 3 Tablespoons of mango butter in a very small pot on the stove. A metal 1 cup measuring cup works great. Make sure the mango butter temperature reaches 180 degrees. (This removes the graininess from the mango butter) Then remove from heat and add the 1 tablespoon of Almond Oil and a few drops of your essential oil. Stir, pour into small containers like 1/4 - 1/2 clear jars , and let cool for a few hours. It will be the consistency of frosting. If you would like it a bit thinner you can stir in about 1 teaspoon more of almond oil.
*Note* - If you are using ultra refined mango butter, there probably won't "be" any grains in it. Just heat to melting if that is the case.

You do not need to refrigerate this cream as it's got the recommended amount of preservative in it, which is not too much or at all harsh on your face - though if you wish to and like this recipe, it can be doubled or tripled for use as a body cream as well. Enjoy!

Re: Homemade Facial Cream

Hi,
I don't buy any creams on the market as I make them all. If your face is oily though, would you possibly want something to dry it out instead of a cream? Clay masks are a great way to remove toxins from the skin and also keep your skin from being oily. French Green Clay, a teaspoon to three times that of water, mixed into a paste, then spread on your face no more than once per week, will take the oil from the skin, rather than using something that you might not need to add moisture. Is that what you wanted to know?
