Re: Fat loss

I would suggest reading the book Ultrametabolism. I bought mine throught Amazon. I just needed some motivation and this book is straight forward and full of useful information. I just finished it and am hoping it works! I am not overweight but would like to start eating healthy and be more aware of what I am putting in my body.

Re: Fat loss

Hi,

Good idea, Jenn, here's one more. Two years ago, though not overweight, when my husband and I had blood work done, our cholesterol was high, mine for the first time in my life. Though the Dr, said meds, I said no and went home and called the American Heart Association - who are "very" helpful and will send you out a ton of booklets with recipes on eating healthy and many lowfat and good recipes. Our cholesterol one year later is normal and even if yours already is, you ask when you call them, for help with anything like that, weight loss was one of the choices. Good luck!

Re: Fat loss

If you can't keep your hands off fattening foods, then I suggest you eat about six times a day, with each meal in minimal amounts. My friend eats anything and almost everytime, but she only eats in small quantities. The result? Her figures like that of Uma Thurman (not to mention she does look like Uma Thurman). Now compare that to me who eats at most 2 meals a day (dinner and breakfast), yet my waistline's much wider than hers (and she's taller than me, too!).

Re: Fat loss

No kidding, that hereditary thing.. I don't know. I'm short, under 5 foot so if I gain a lb., it shows, so our solution when our scale (it was battery operated) and when the battery got low, to my "amazement!", you weighed less... then, my husband was going to ruin it all by replacing the battery, so I helped him and threw out the scale! LOL

Re: Fat loss

Is it true that spicy foods speed up your metabolism? Is it enough to make a difference?

Re: Fat loss

My roommate plays basketball in the morning and never eats until lunch. I suggested the six meals a day thing and he said there is no chance he can get that many in, but asked if it would be better to have something (metabolism-wise) before or after he plays. Thoughts?

Re: Fat loss

I read this week that a study was released and doctors have said that if your breakfast choice is a donut or no breakfast, the begrudgingly recommend that you eat the donut. Allegedly having nothing at all makes you eat vastly more throughout the day.

Re: Fat loss

how about a fruit and water diet? 8 or more glasses of water a day... eat the doughnut!... then maybe a banana or two (or three) for energy and and better digetsion process... apples, too, for better digestion...

just eat breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day!

Eat breakfast like a king.
Eat lunch like a prince.
Eat dinner like a pauper.

You need energy throughout the day, and as the day goes by, the less energy you need.

Re: Fat loss

Best advice I ever got from Oprah is do not eat past 7pm. I have done that for a couple weeks now and I have lost a lot of fat. If you start to feel hungry have a glass of water or a decaffinated cup of tea (no sugar or milk)!

Re: Fat loss

Devote yourself to it, that is the only way to do it. You are the one who needs to make a willing decision to do this. Also to reward yourself, allow yourself to have one treat you absolutely love every week on that particular day after a weeks worth of work. Kinda like a paycheck.
