all you have to do is click on the "home" link and on the homepage it'll say "earn up to 2000 miles" and provides a link to get started.

thanks for the tip :)

just linking to the homepage since AA.com uses a wierd system and doesn't allow links to most of their pages.

DH and I are flying American for the first time on Saturday, so this will get us even more miles! It is very easy to sign up for their frequent flyer program, too. You don't have to already belong to take advantage of this. Thanks, Matt!

I use my miles to pay for AOL...you can get 3 months of service for around 5,000 miles. Thanks for this information! Now that they're no longer doing the Opinion Surveys, these miles are harder to get for those of us who don't actually fly..lol.

Drats. You need a pin to access your account. I keep requesting pins, they keep mailing them and then I can never find them when I need them!

The AA card is great if you do a lot of buying. We have accumulated over 100,000 miles just making regular purchases on it each month. Unfortunately, we don't take many vacations with 2 little rugrats running around, but maybe someday. I just heard AA was amending the program so the miles never expire.

AA. You earn 1 pt per dollar. Keep in mind, I've had the card for many many years and have put all major purchases on it, including private school tuition for 2 kids.

Thank you for this post. I applied for all of the AAdvantage emails and received the miles. While I was checking my AAdvantage account, I checked my husband's account and found that the miles from his TWA Aviator's account had not been posted to his AAdvantage account.....that's over 5,000 miles. My account and my son's TWA Aviator's miles had been transferred on 12/4/01.

Thank you for the head's up, without reading the post I would not have called AAdvantage and had my husband's account updated.

Can't thank you enough.

Theresa,
This was posted in 2002 -- that is why it no longer works :)
