becoming a Pamper Chef consultant?

Question for all the people, has anyone here heard of Pampered Chef? Are any of you consultant?

I know of someone wanting to do this, what advice do you have about this, or selling or any products such as Avon, Tupperware, Mary Kay.

Is this a good commission for selling, Pampered Chef is 20%, for a stay at home mom is this average or standard commission.?(Sign up is $100.00 for $350.00 worth of products, with a six show commitment.)

Thanks you can visit them at www.pamperedchef.com to see what they are about, I just want advice to my friend before she gets involved.

Yes, I am a Pampered Chef consultant.

It's a lot of fun. I've done Mary Kay, Avon, Amway...

PC is by far the best as far as how they treat consultants. The money is good, but you do work your tail off.

On the plus side...you can fill your cabinets with really cool kitchen gadgets :D

email me if you have anymore questions :D

I do Tupperware!!

I am a stay at home mom . .too . .I just started selling Tupperware at the beginning of September and absolutely love the people I work with and the work I do!! I have to say . .we make a 35% profit and get 35% off all products for ourselves. The start up is 55$ for your kit which includes a great deal of Tupperware and a big cloth bag to hold it as well as enough supplies to get 3 parties underway. There is no minimum party amount per month. . all you have to do is sell $5 worth a month (if you dont have parties one month, just buy a $5 item yourself) If you want more into, contact me at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

You can check out my web site at
my.tupperware.com/ceri

There is some good info there, too.

Best part is I make about 25 an hour and make my own schedule . . I dont have to ask for time off or let someone know if my kids are sick *S*

Hubby used to do Amway and I've thought about doing one of these businesses. Long story as to why I don't. lol....BUT, when I was really thinking about it, it was between Pampered Chef and Partylite (sells candles...GREAT candles!). Partylite was at the top of my list because there's NO fee for the kit.....just have to do six shows in like 2 weeks. Even if you don't, they don't take your kit away or anything....it's just to help you get jump-started. ;)

LOVE Pampered Chef!! I've got 1 round stone, 1 square casserole stone, some gadgets.....oh, my food chopper!! LOVE THAT!!, cutting boards, suds pump.....I could go on and on!!

On the Partylite side, I have a whole drawer FULL of candles!! lol!

thanks for all the advice, I didn't know tupperware sold has such a high commission compared to Pampered Chef, wow that is just a huge difference.
My friend needs to do something with her time and needs the $$$ from the sales, the company even told her that Tupperware will be available in stores like Target in the next years so that is why she stayed away from them.
I am going to my first show tonight with her, I just hope she won't give this up to like when the excitement becomes work. THANKS for the posts!:)

I have read everyone elses opinion about the various companies out there. I am a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. I can honestly say that after trying Tupperware, MaryKay is the way to go. You will never find such supportive people than sister consutants. You can make up to a 50% profit, and a skin care class takes about 2 hours tops. The average amount spent at a class is $250. Not too shabby! They also offer you all the education you can handle, and it's marketing info you can use anywhere. Now for the big kicker...MaryKay's motto is:
God first, Family second, Business third. You can email me if you [Only registered and activated users can see links. Good Luck, and email me anytime for questions and info

I am currently a Creative Memories Consultant and have been with several other home sales companies. I can tell you unless you really work HARD you will not make money at any of them. I have heard really great things about Mary Kay ......... with my experience with Pampered Chef......... dont go that way unless you are prepared for the work. They have great kitchen goodies but it take a whole lot of work to make money at it. You dont get much percentage on what you sell.

I have a friend who tried being a Pampered Chef consultant, because another friend of ours has done it for three years and absolutely loves it. So my friend did all the required stuff for the first two months to get the business going the way they want you to... but she was also working a full time job and that made a lot of extra evening and weekend work for her. She said when she figured out how much time she'd spent on traveling to and from shows, the show duration, placing orders online, and doing all the business stuff, she made about $3/hour.

I think it's true... you have to work REALLY hard to make any of these home party businesses work. From her experience, I don't recommend it being a part-time thing on top of a full-time job because it will take time away from your family and you probably wouldn't earn enough to make your efforts worthwhile.

I've thought about doing PC too, because I love their products, love to cook, and I'm a trainer anyway... so what a perfect combo! Problem is, I would HATE all the clean-up afterward! :D

I think the person and the business have to be the perfect match for it to be successful. Of course, you may not really know until you try. On the up side, if it doesn't work out, you will have had a chance to outfit your kitchen with some really great products at a discount!

Good luck, whatever direction you choose to go.

It might be regional, but around here Pampered Chef and Partylite seems to sell the best. And from the shows I've been to or hosted, it seems Pampered Chef goes off the best. You can only have so many candles. LOL

As far as Mary Kay and Tupperware go, I've always had problems getting people to come to a Mary Kay party. Maybe it's the price, maybe it's because people see it as being about makeup, and people are going more natural thesedays? I'm not sure. I have heard though that you can make good money in Mary Kay. At the place I work out, there are at least a dozen Mary Kay business cards on the bulletin board - so before going into something it'd probably be good to see how many people are already in your area.

As someone else mentioned, Tupperware is going to start selling at Target - I'd have to imagine this is going to hurt consultants. And personally I'd much rather buy it online or go to a store and buy it rather than have a party.

So what am I saying? Who knows. LOL

As a consumer, I'd pick a Pampered Chef party over all the others. There's always something to buy, and things are reasonable too!

My sitter's neighbor does Pampered Chef and loves it. She makes great money and wins trips and stuff like that. I know she works hard - it's her main job.

Anyway - that's my 2 cents!

Re: becoming a Pamper Chef consultant?

Hi, I have been searching for a home based business also until I fouind the perfect one. I have done Mary Kay, The Mom Team but they were all the same. Products that were good and I still love them today but they were to high priced. I love pamper chef but I needed a better profit from my sales. Now I do Passion Parties and I love it and I make great profit. I am a team leader and I help my team achieve there goals. We earn 40% of our profit and we have an excellent team. Our team alone last month sold $50,000.00 just our team. I would never lie to anyone just so they could sign up I tell it how it is. But if you want to make that extra money you don't have to kill yourself having party after party. One or two a month. I help ladies that are states away. email me for more info.
