Thanks for the post! In order to get the stamps you have to sign up for a newsletter and then download a trial version from stamps.com (??) so you can get the postage right from your PC.

The free stamps are from stamps.com and you have to sign up with their service to get them and they don't mail you 100 stamps, they credit your account with $44.00 in free postage...no good if you are already a member like me

Where do I start..first..the privacy statement does say that, but you might have overlooked the last section that says "All of our mailing list are of people who are interested in Internet e-mail advertising."
They only sell names of those who have stated they want to hear from other company's etc.
I have been a member with stamps.com and they are in works with the USPS and all LEGIT!! I didn't download the software..I sent away for the CD..it came fairly quickly. They do credit you w/ an amount, but I didn't think I got that much credit, but I could very well have. I know the amount I did get lasted me an awful long time. I get charged $1.99 per month for these services...to me they're worth it because I live in the "sticks"..and the closest Post Office is a TINY one and only will sell the singe stamps after hours..when you use this program you can even print the Priority Stamps...You get all of your packaging envelopes for free (the cardboard and plastic)..I posted awhile back where everyone can get them as well. So don't think this company is a scam..it really is all on the up and up. A that concludes a word from our sponsor....LOL!!!

Shoot...I wanted to add...I don't think the site that this "offer" was posted on is affiliated w/ stamps.com, but more as there using themselves as a referral ...make sense? They had at that top..."other great freebies" and it was page for more freebies (not even good ones at that). I want to say if I referred someone to stamps.com (the legit) one and they signed up I got free postage..or something like that. I am also pretty sure to be able to refer someone, I gave stamps.com the persons email addy and THEY sent out an email. This site just asked for that..so they're turning around and providing stamps.com w/ your addy's and getting a "kickback" bonus on their account if you sign up. I suggest because of this site sneaky ways that if you're really interested...go to the site yourself..NOT through the email that was sent to you..www.stamps.com www.100stamps.com=SCAM www.stamps.com=LEGIT

Once again 100stamps.com is the "rip off" here..yes, they're using your email addy for the newsletter and more and likely as a referral for their own stamps.com account. stamps.com is ALL THE WAY ON THE UP AND UP
If your interested in looking into stamps.com, do it on your own and not through a link in an email or other site

Gotta pass up this one, simply because I just don't do that much mailing, but it does sound like a good offer. Most of the time I use my computer to pay bills, so I don't have to make as many trips the P.O. Thanks anyway though!

BUDDAROW...I think there's still more confusion going on here, what EXACTLY do you think sounds too good to be true? I am not being a smart butt in any way, I just want to make sure for those of you who aren't "familiar" with stamps.com aren't passing on something that may be of real interest to you NO..I'm not some "spokesperson" for this program nor will I attain any reward for informing you, but I do use it myself on a regular basis LOL!
EDITING MYSELF: *THIS IS POSTAGE YOU PRINT USING YOUR COMPUTER*
I went to the site to refresh my memory-
If you sign up for the standard plan, which INDIVIDUALS would want to do, you get $20 worth of postage credited to your account..this plan has a minimum of $1.99 charge every month (this is the one I do, always pay $1.99 a month- this figure is based on the amount of postage you print per month 10% or minimum of $1.99)
If you sign up for the power plan, which is aimed more towards businesses and such, you get $40 worth of postage credited to your account...this plan has a flat monthly charge of $15.99..you also get a package weigh scale.
With either of these plans, when your account is running low on "funds" you may purchase more "postage" any time you want.
Most of the postage I print is directly onto my envelopes. You can however print onto USPS approved labels and such. You get a "starter" package with plenty of supplies (labels, priority stickers, etc.) to last quite awhile for the "average" person.

I looked into this a long time ago, & I remember something about havng to purchase the lazer labels for packages, the cost for the lables was pretty high, like $11 (not saving me much if I only get $20 free)..is this still the case?

I got $40 free postage through them, and a free scale. The scale broke right away. It took me 2 hours to get the packages mailed, because the system was such a pain in the butt. It would have taken me 10 minutes just to drive to the post office. I thought i could print postage at night and drop off my packages whenever I could, but it turns out that packages have to be dropped off at the pst office, when they are open. So why bother paying extra money to stamps.com when I have to go to the post office anyway to drop off the packages. The free postage was nice, but cancel the service quickly.

Ok...I'm STILL using the program. I didn't sign up for the Power Plan..this where you get the $40 free credit and the scales (you get charged a monthly of $15.99 a month also).
I have the Standard Plan..cost me 10% of the total amount of postage I use or a minimum of $1.99 a month, I HAVE NEVER BEEN CHARGED MORE THAN THIS, I guess I would if I printed over $19.00 a month in postage (10% of $19= $1.99).
I print my postage right on my envelopes. I have sent many packages w/ this also and NEVER had a pain in the butt experience..I don't use a scale either. If using a priority postage, you can send it w/ your mail carrier (if pkg. weighs under 3 lbs.) You do not have to purchase lazer labels if you just want to print the postage onto the envelopes. Even if you do use a label, they're for inkjet printers also. They are usually in neon color. They are not that expensive for the amount you get. I am STILL using the free starter package stamps.com sent me and have plenty left to use (labels etc.) Also you can get all the cardboard boxes and plastic envelopes you will ever need for FREE. I'm talking, the box I got had to be stored under my bed it was so full of these things. I would not suggest CANCELLING this right away unless you're JUST using this for the free service and then well..I guess you should. I print my postage on the envelopes (you have to make sure you print the right date..like if I went in there right now to print postage, but I didn't want to mail it until tomorrow, I just make sure I post date it), I put them in my mailbox and that's it!
It is worth $1.99 to me..I spend more money in gasoline going to the post office than that. Then I have to travel further to a larger one if it's after hours and I need a priority stamp or a book of stamps. I suggest all of you go to the site and read about it. I think I've been using it now for 5 months, maybe a tad more and I absolutely love it
