Chatter box

By reading the descriptions below... the first one says: for use with any electric, gas or propane stove. Seems like it can't be used alone.
The second one says :removable adjustable heat control and it's also immersible and dishwasher safe - sounds like you plug it in and it's used alone. From the look of it you can lift out the cassorole part and it says you can use it in the microwave.
The second one sounds like a better deal to me. The other actually sounds like an accessory.
I have never used either type (I swear by my George Foreman for indoor grilling:)), so I can't give you any input of how well they work.

Good Luck with your choice:)

The difference of the George Foreman grill (and the copycats, which i'm sure are very similar), is that it closes over to cook both sides at once.... VERY quick. You can do a good sized FROZEN steak in minutes. And the George Foreman is on an incline.. so grease and fat slide down away from the food.
The grills pictured on the BC site do not close over, and though they have ridged surfaces, they are not at an incline, so there will still be some grease that your food sits on. George Foreman is one unit, very well teflon coated... just a cinch to clean! The BC grills are made of several pieces, looks like it needs to be taken apart to be cleaned...ugh.....
Longer cooking time, more fat... and from the looks of them, harder cleanup....very important factor to me..lol.

But... George Foreman grills are expensive. The one at Amazon (just bought one and sent it to my MIL) on sale is nice.. though small. Good for one person. I have the Jumbo family one right now.. though I did work up to this size..lol. The bigger they got, I just went out and got another, and thanks to DoD, always at very discounted prices:)

Hope this info helps........ Good Luck:)

No Bethie.... that's only a cover.. the George Foreman grill closes over with the heating units on TOP AND BOTTOM, so the food cooks on both sides at once.
The electric grill that can be used on it's own on the BC site sounds fine. I was just pointing out the pros of a GF grill. If you are just looking for a nice indoor grill and aren't in a super rush for the food (Like me..lol) and don't mind a little clean up (LIKE ME!!!!! :)), and aren't worried about a little extra fat (L I K E M E !!!...lol), and btw, the BC grill does look pretty healthy compared to frying, then go with it. Like I said the price seems like a good bargain to me. But when you're ready for the BIG upgrade... I recommend the George Foreman grill...:)

Hmmm.... Two small steaks... thinking back..... like fillet mignon steaks...lol. It's pretty small, like two hamburgers size. If the steaks are small, yeah.. probably. But it'll cook them sooo fast, that by the time u get one to the table, the next one will be half cooked. So let the slow eater get the first one..lolol.

The amazon one is a pretty good deal..... especailly with a GC. Do you have one? The best I can do is send you a referral one ($5.00), I don't have any others left.
Don't forget the 10% off with code:AMZNTENPRCNT . And there are 2 grills available for the $19.99, same size but one with a bun warmer and one without. Both of the white ones are on sale with no shipping costs right now. Bun warmers are a preference. I like my buns toasted.. i just pop them on the gill for a couple of seconds.

BTW... if you have 2 email addys.. send yourself a referrel so you get another $5.00 GC. They are not stackable... just for next time. If not, and if your are interested in this ... send me ur addy and i'll send u one.

autumn, thanks for the advice....

will run it by the boyfriend tonite... and probably get the george grill.... heck, its only 9.99 shipped so it'll be a good chance to see if we would actually get use out of one of those bigger expensive george ones

don't know if the 10% off code will work with a promotional gift certificate but i'll give it a try
