Staples $100 towards $20 purchase

I got this email this morning and decided to take it into their B&M store. The store manager said it was a major typo (and ran to fax it to headquarters). She did say that Staples would honor the coupon for me since I was the first person to bring it to their attention.

If this ad was a typo, boy was it a big one! The entire ad is ridden with mistakes then. Anyone try this on online??

I got that offer from staples today too. I read it over and over thinking I was crazy.

I emailed them telling them if they wanted to really give away free money I'd be more than happy to take it! Otherwise, they had better fix their ad. I haven't heard from the. I did print the ad though...just in case [img]http://www.dealofday.com/ubb/smile.gif[/img]

The one and only e-mail I got from Staples was correct: "$10 free toward any $40 products purchase" for a store purchase, and "$20 free toward any $100 purchase" for an online, in-store or catalog purchase. I wonder how my local Staples would have handled the obvious typographical errors!

i also got the same email .. called staples they said that they didnt have to honor their typo's i told them that there is no disclaimer on it .. they pretty much told me tough oh well.. i guess words spoken arent what they used to be.!!!

I can not even acknowledge this email deal from Staples as a typographical error. It was laced with the various mentioned savings (and reiterated them several times). In my opinion, a typo is transposed numbers, omitition of information, but the email Staples sent was a major mistake and it should have been caught in it's creation stage. Someone at Staples really DROPPED THE BALL on this one!

I received another email from Staples saying that they were "pulling" the promotion but they "value me" as a customer and would be sending out something to me (and everyone else who got the inital email) after the holiday season and to watch for something from them in January.

Here I sit...holding my breathe!

Staples is the worst. I try to avoid them, ah temptation. latest deal turned out to be a charge to my credit card for nothing in return. This was becuse Microsoft Flight sim was outta stock. They never entered the cancellation for the order so they claim. They called me about it. Still waiting for the charge to be deleted.
Staples know how to use bargain hunters, and as for rebates good luck. three months and waiting for the rebates from their windows ME deal last summer.

I got this email also. I printed out mine and RAN to the B&M, dragging hubby and his email with me, dialing my sister-in-law while on the run so she could check her email too. Hubby and I each filled up our carts with $120. AFTER I spoke to the manager and persuaded him to honor the email coupon and we paid just $20 each! My S-I-L got a new monitor that was on sale too!
We knew it had to b a mistake but since they hadn't corrected it yet........
