Rolling eyes section for new DOD'ers questions

Being new to deal of day I have had many questions on how to navigate and post. Some of the questions seemed silly so I never posted them on Chit Chat or the comment section. It seems there might be a need for a forum where new people can ask questions and get advice from veteran dealers without feeling out of place.

I believe something along that line is in the works.. in the meantime, please feel free to e-mail any of us Mods with any/all questions.. and don't feel silly posting them either... that is partly what the General Chit Chat forum is about... to talk about things, ask questions, etc.

For some reason the chit chat forum doesn't feel like the right place. Luckily, I think I am finally getting the knack of things, although if I do have a question I will email one of the moderators. I was just thinking about some of the newer people. There seems to be a lot of new member introductions lately.
jsalba- thanks for your suggestions

Re: section for new DOD'ers questions

in the introduce yourself section is where i asked my Qs. mods quick to say hi and answer. i am not used to forums - in fact i've gotten lost in threads and make goofups as to replying or accidentally making a new thread - hence the name. i do like the private message use where my goofups are not shown to everyone.8)

Goofguy,
You're absolutely right, I "am" a Mod and you wouldn't believe (ok, so you would! lol) the amount of "my own" posts I've deleted after I looked at it again! Please, anyone feel free to pm any of us, or ask here or wherever you'd like. Lots of people prefer the private messages, as like goofguy said, nobody else can see them.
For anyone who doesn't know how to do a pm, or private message, and I'll use me as an example, click on my user name at the top of the post and then again when the little menu comes up that says 'Send Private Message', maybe that'll help a new person who doesn't know how to do that.
And I found out recently (I kept wondering what it meant) what OP means, in case anyone's as Duh.. as I was about it, it means Original Poster. LOL

Hey Kat....that reminds me, is there a posting of different abbrv around this site. I've thought about that before for several abbrv I've seen (the only one I can recall right now is "DH" which I'm still not sure what it means, based on the contexts of several different posts using it). I've seen an abbrv post from verwon about coupons....but wondering if there is one for just regular day-to-day dealofday talking? Thanks:!:

Re: section for new DOD'ers questions

DH is for dear husband, or an alternative if you are mad at them, so you also see DW, DD, DS and so on, for Dear Wife, Dear Son, Dear Daughter and etc.

OP is Original Poster

Dupe means the post is a duplicate to one already posted.

I agree, I've never seen that before, I picked up most of that stuff when I was a conference host on AOL conference room host years ago--- but not all of "those", geez, TL, you just expanded my vocabulary! LOL ---> see?

Hugs,

Kat ;)
