It was a taffy we used to buy as kids...very thin (like 1/4") and long (maybe 12") and the wrapper was liked waxed paper. :)

Both of these from the early 70's, when I was in high school:

Carnation Breakfast Bars - no, not the ones that were granola bars covered in chocolate, these were before those. They were kind of like layered cake/cookies - very dense and moist - and were covered with a thin layer of chocolate coating. My favorite was the cinnamon, the covering was white chocolate.

"You're the Fire" perfume. Not sure who made it, but it was pretty spicy.

Quaker granola bars...they were carmel filled. Not really bars even, they were round.

Taco Bell bellbeefers. Taco meat on a hamburger bun.

I miss Taco Lights at Taco Bell. Pizza Hut used to have cheese calzones, they had some special name for them that I can't remember. And Patagonia quit making their Shelled Capilene/Synchilla jackets. DH has owned at least 6 over the past 12 years and I've had two. They were awesome jackets and no longer made. Kazman, I forgot all about Marathon bars... yum, those were good!

Talking when you go to England

you can get the fried apple pies at McDonalds. I actually liked the new apple pies better, but some people like to burn their toungue on bubbling hot filling and eat pies that look like eggrolls. Then again, if I grew up on British food...

I can't remeber the name of it, but there was this shampoo when I was little that didn't actually dye your hair but it would slightly tint it for a few days. I used to love to use it. I could tint my hair blond or red or black depending on my mood! Really wish they hadn't stopped making it.

Frookies chocolate chip cookies, they were good for something that had no sugar (they were made with fructrose, I don't think I spelled that right!)

I don't think they make this any more, if they do I haven't seen it in years. It was this plastic glue type stuff in a tube. You would attach this little plastic straw looking thing to the tube and blow a bubble. It looked like a bubble gum bubble, but you could play with it as a ball for a while. I don't think I described it very well. Does any body have a clue what I'm talking about? :)

I know what you are talking about! I think it might be called plastic bubbles and the last time I saw it (a couple years ago) it was in a grocery store in the little toy section they had.

"Gee your hair smells terrific"--loved that stuff and the Body on Tap too!
The plastic bubble maker thingy...just saw a commercial for it on Nickelodeon?? My girl watches it all the time so I think that is where I seen it. I have also seen it at the dollar stores too.
Ok, the taffy...yum! I found this again at a little country store (like an old general store) when I was on vacation in Cooks Forest, PA.

Actually, there is a site that sells many of the food items that are hard to find, if I can find the site I will post it here.

They still make Frookies - you just have to go to the health food store for them (or at least that's the only place they have them here). My sister is addicted to these & buys them at Mrs. Gooch's in LA too.

And the ball stuff - I've seen it on Nick Jr. recently (see what happens when you have little kids at home?) I'll jot down the number next time the commercial is on (which will probably be Monday since they show the same ones over & over) and I'll post it for you! :)
