Marathon bars .. i remember walking downtown with the babysitter to buy those things ... yum! There's a reasonable British equivalent made by Cadbury, they're called Curly Wurly. I had a couple when I was over in England in March, they were pretty good. Sorry, there's no picture, but here's a link ... http://goodwoods.safeshopper.com/14/cat14.htm?851

Chocolate fudge, peanut butter fudge, and cherry chocolate pop. Can't remember the brand name, but it was good stuff

Willow Lake shampoo and conditioner. I finally found a combination that worked good for me, then I can't find the stuff anymore!

Tootsie Pop Drops ... last time I found those was 10 years ago in a gas station in Hudson. They were great!

I'm glad someone else doesn't like those commercials..they border on soft porn I think. I cringe everytime I hear it and my kids are watching. I too loved the original scent of Herbal Essence. It's one of those smells that just sticks with you. The new stuff doesn't even come close!

Knott's Berry Farm Roasted Garlic Salad Dressing
Cott's soda
Nabisco Doo-Dads (similar to Chex Mix)
anything from ingredients.com
Choc-o-Lite candy bars
Mr. Steak restaurants (especially that ranch toast!)
mechanical pinball machines (dislike the new digital ones!)
Woolworth's stores
American Bandstand
Pop videos on MTV (like the 80's!)
The old untampered-with Michael Jackson

I miss...

Prince Matchabelli cologne for men and Brut hairspray.

Just a couple months ago, all "spicy" versions of Doritos disappeared from the shelves. Only the "cheesy" and "cool ranch" flavors remain. Bummer.

Remember when you USED to get a good prize in the Cracker Jacks boxes? Yeah, it's all relative, isn't it? When we were tykes, a little plastic soldier was GREAT! Later, all you got were little paper booklets. Neither would impress me right now!

Yep, they got really cheap with their prizes, and they've always been cheap with the peanuts...LOL

oops...forgot to mention Mountain Man Nut & Fruit Co. (http://www.mountainmannut.com/). When I lived in Colorado, they had these 1-lb bags of goodies called "Salsa Pretzel Bits". They tasted similar to the "Spicier Nacho" Doritos, but were fragments of larger pretzels. When I moved away, I always tried to bring a couple bags home with me whenever I visited on ski trips. Last time out, they discontinued them. Was I their only customer?

Remember when the man at the grocery store bagged your stuff and put them on the roller belt. You drove your car up and they put your bags in the car..........I used to think that was the greatest thing when I was little. :)

and here's something we definately can't find around here......pay phones! :(

I remember feeling like such a grown up when I would use my mom's herbal essence shampoo. It use to be green with a cartoon looking lady on the front. She had long beautiful hair.

Just saw some shrinky dinks at walmart this past weekend. Bought some of that bubble stuff at dollar tree last week...and about a month ago I saw willow lake shampoo at pic-n-save (now big lot's).

I had a doll named Baby Joey that was from the show "All in the Family". I loved that doll so much. It was my first boy baby. I remember that he even smelled like a real baby! Oh the memories......

also:
jello molds in every shape - kids now just don't appreciate jello
pull tabs on soda cans

I miss my Baby Chrissy doll! She had short red hair, but you could pull a pony tail out of the top of her head! I forgot how it went back in, I think you pushed a button somewhere.

I also remember:
the Mrs. Beasley doll;
the kids show "Wonderama" (I think it was only on in the D.C. area);
H.R. Pufnstuf;
when Ho-Ho's came wrapped in silver foil;
Little Kiddles;
Close and Play record players;
Desert boots and Earth shoes;
Granny dresses.

There's a neat website called Yesterdayland.com that brings back a lot of memories (and has a picture of the Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific bottle!).

Rolling eyes

How about that toy, it looked something like some kind of flat red plastic bug but was a bit gooey. You threw it at a window, and it would walk down the window on it's own. What were those called? Don't think they sell them anymore, they were really popular.

I don't recall the name 3tbear, but I certainly remember them. So does my mom...after one got stuck in the baseboard heater and stunk up the house. And once got stuck on a cathedral ceiling at another house. No more of those thingies.
