Talking

I remember Cecil and Beanie! And Betsey Clark! I still see quite a bit of Betsey Clark stuff around. I remember Holly Hobbie very well. She was so popular and my cousin had her whole bedroom done in that theme.

To the person who mentioned watching Zoom, that show is still on (just in case you didn't know). I didn't think Zoom was a very old show. I mean, I know it must be at least 10 years old, but how old IS it?

Zoom hasn't been around since we used to watch it in the 70s. It just came back a year or two ago after being gone a long time. I don't remember much about them, but I do remember watching all those shows: Romper Room, Captain Kangaroo, Zoom, Electric Company. Also all those Sid and Marty Kroft shows: Land of the Lost, The Bugaloos, Sigmund the Sea Monster, HR Pufnstuf, etc.....

speaking of tv shows...what about "The Great Space Coaster?" and gum from those machines that only cost a penny, NOT a quarter or more. How about parachute pants from the 80's, hee hee.

Speaking of kids shows, there was one called Big Blue Marble which my son watched when he was little. I rather liked it and couldn't figure out why they took it off the air. Of course I always loved Sesame Street. I remember the songs better than my kids do.

Exclamation About the Romper Stompers

My Mom made us our own when we were little. Punch holes with a punch or a screwdriver in two 3lb coffee cans and loop a rope through. They were a lot noisier but just as fun!!!

Love

Oh my gosh! I have been talking about Marathon bars for YEARS!!! Remember they were "a foot of fun" and had a ruler on the back! Oh, yum! And Googly peanut butter! Oh man, I loved that stuff! The new Jiff Sensations are a good substitute. How about Oompa Loompas--not the ones that are out now. They were like really big M&Ms but were half chocolate and half peanut butter. I loved those. I always wanted those stilt things. I had a Lemon Twist! It was a plastic lemon attached to a rubber "rope" which then went around your ankle. You swung it with one foot and hopped over it with the other. They make Skip-Its now instead; same concept, no lemon. And one more. This is one that no one remembers the name of! There was a cartoon that had a bunch of misfit superheros. One was a guy that stretched and another was a baby who used to swing his bottle around. Does anyone remember it?

"Reverie" perfume. It smelled wonderful, like an old castle, came in a bottle that looked like it was from Holland, blue and white.

This is a great thread, thanks for bumping it Karen!

One thing that makes me sad is that I can't find the perfume scented "Little Kiddles" dolls that came in plastic cases anymore for my daughters. I used to collect those and whenever my friends and I would play at each others' houses, we would display them and just smell and smell...the scents lasted forever. I can smell Miss Lavendar still!

oh how I LOVED those fried apple pies! They serve them in Taiwan, too, along with the REAL ice cream cones (not the fake crap they serve here). oh that was soooooo good!

I loved the original scent of Herbal Essence, and the old commercials. The new stuff isn't great, and the commercials are really offensive.
