VEGAS DEALS ???

Help!!!!

I am trying to find deals for hotels on the Las Vegas Casino Strip from Jun 30 - July 3. I am sending my parents on a west coast vacation and trying to pay for this whole thing. Considering how expensive this has already gotten, I dont want to spend more than $50/room but I dont want them to stay in a crappy hotel either.

Anyone have any tips on how to save and get a good place? I know a lot of hotels also give bonus gifts (2 for 1 buffets, free shows etc). Can someone help?

I found a few places in my range...how are these - Sahara, Stratosphere, Las Vegas Hilton. Found 2 expensive ones but nice ones...Flamingo, Golden Nugget. Anyone have any reccomendations/suggestions/websites?

Hotels in Vegas

I would recommend checking Hotel Discounts . Here everything is prepaid (including taxes), so your parents won't have to pay on check-out. June - July is actually a pretty dead period for Las Vegas (really hot), so you will be able to find quite a few good deals. Just make sure that hotel is located on a strip! Really nice hotels are always over $100 a night. The best hotels in Vegas are Bellagio and Venetian.

It's is very nice that you are doing it for your parents! Don't forget to book shows which you have to do 2-3 months in advance. That's the whole point of the trip: nice shows. Recommend: "O" Cirque, "Mystere", Blue Men, Jubilee, Storm, Mindnight Fantasy, etc. Tickets are not inexpensive and hard to get if you don't book in advance!

Chatter box

sahara is nice but far down on the strip...same with the stratosphere...way down in the boonies...technically the strip but pretty far down there. The hilton is nice too. Flamingo sounds like the best bet if you can afford it. A lot of places have room specials too if you book them during the week...good luck, it is a nice thing you are doing for your parents :)

Thumbs up Las Vegas Hilton

I've stayed here twice. It is one block off the strip. I recommend it if you want a decent hotel for less $$.

I am so glad you posted this about Vegas deals. I want to book a trip for my me and my dh for his birthday in October. Obviously it is a ways off, but I know it will be here in no time. I'm glad I read about booking shows months in advance...I didn't know that!!! I figure now that everyone is back from Vegas, I can get some really good advice!

Great post. ANY deals anyone can suggest would be really appreciated! :D

Las Vegas deals

Sign up at the hotel websites for their e-mails. They send deals via e-mail, almost weekly. Most deals run Sun-Thurs. DH is there now with his brother and they are staying at Mandalay Bay for $85 a night. Another friend stayed at the Venetian two weeks ago for $79. Hotels we recommend are Paris, New York New York (they sent a special today for May $59-$79 a night using the code 12May) Monte Carlo has great offers as well, they include lots of extras, i.e., two for one spa, restaurant discounts.

Good Luck.

Thumbs up Thanks for your replies!

Thanks everyone for your replies. Great idea about the show, I didnt even think about it. I think I am going to ask the hotel I book to get them some great shows. I am sending them on a 15 day trip that includes grand canyon, vegas, LA, and San Francisco (Napa). Pretty penny spent on the airfare so trying to save where I can.

Which reminds me...does anybody know of website that I can look at for the one day tours from vegas to grand canyon?

Oh, been meaning to ask this...dh...does that stand for dear husband?

If you are flying them there, you should look for a room/air package. It should cost you little more than just the price of the plane tickets. I have been looking at deals to Vegas for quite a few months now. I have found the best deals and prices at www.expedia.com . I also reccomend signing up at web sites. I have been getting good deals from many places in my emails. BTW, the Golden Nugget is on Freemont Street downtown - not the Strip. Good deals can be found downtown, if that is where you want to stay.

Venetian for $99

I know you only wanted something for $50 but this may help someone else even if you aren't interested. If you are looking for something really special, check out this offer from the Venetian. We just booked the same nights you were looking for (6/30 - 7/3) for $99 per night - not sure how much availability there is, so you might want to hurry as rooms at these rates are sure to go fast:

Venetian

Post excalibur special

The Excalibur is located in the middle of the new strip in a great location. They are currently running a special of $59 per night for Sunday-Thursday. Check out the website: http://www.excaliburlasvegas.com/
Click on Royal Summer Package on the top of the website. The special also includes a 2-for-1 buffet coupon and some other fun stuff.
