In my old house, my kitchen had a nuetral floor and wall, so I had it decorated in ladybug stuff. Unfortunately, I moved last week into a much biger house but the kitchen has the most hideous wallpaper! Dark colored with bunches of apples and pears and stuff. Ewww. I am praying that the landlady will let me redo it. the floor is a dark wood vinyl so it's really cool but that paper has got to go!!!

Fruit motif.....I don't have a kitchen window so there's not much to decorate but I have fruit (apple/pear) wallies above the cupboards, some fruit bottles on the cupboards, a lil apple swag, etc. Walls are the same color as the living room/dining area...the color is called "dusting powder", kind of a "beachy" blush. White ceramic tile floor.
Tried to carry the fruit theme into the dining area, have a windowpane mirror with a pretty fruit/magnolia swag above it and three shabby chic fruit panels (outlined in ivory).
Hubby doesn't have any say in the decorating, it's all about ME ;) :)

The kitchen is off white on one wall, and cabinets of pine, light blue tile countertop, fake ivy hanging around a mirror.

Bedroom, off white walls, oak furnishings, moroccan style gold sheer curtains with tassels.

Living room, off white, burgundy checked curtains, oak furnishings.

Bathroom, my favorite, light pink tiles on part of the walls, off white for the rest of the walls, pink roses and hearts abound.

My kitchen is a tan color with sunflowers and blue/yellow/green plaid. It is still quite plain as I still havent found the perfect stencil for around my cabinets.

my kitchen is has white/forest green tile or whatever it's called, laminate? i dunno LOL!! with a sunflowers theme, i have sunflowers EVERYWHERE...have a print of van gogh sunflowers over our table and my mom sewed a pretty sunflower quilt to hang over our power box and some sunflower hooks...have sunflower chimes hanging from the middle...sunflower pictures and fake sunflower plants everywhere, on my desk, on the walls, in hanging baskets etc (our kitchen is the biggest room in the house)....i've collected sunflower things (my favorite flower) since i was a little girl and my mom always buys or makes beautiful sunflower stuff to go with my kitchen lol...

my bedroom is mostly purples and silvers/greys (my favorite colors) with all my hello kitty/chococat stuff and porcelain dolls (poor hubby LOL)....

living room is done in blues (hubby's favorite color) and we have a "le park moneceau" (sp? lol) by monet print ( i love that painting)hanging over our entertainment center and "christina's world" print by andrew wyeth (my FAVORITE painting EVER) hanging on another wall and candles everywhere, seems like that's the only room in the house that stays clean LOL!

kids' rooms are scooby doo and barbie/hello kitty ;)

the kids' bathroom is done in a beach/fish motif, lots of pastels mostly and my bathroom is cream and purple with anne geddes prints on the walls, but we're in the process of redecorating it :)

I also have a kitty themed kitchen, but I jokingly refer to it as retro because I haven't changed much since my parents had it redone in the 70's. One of my goals for 2003 is to declutter and redecorate every room in my house, at the very least changing the rugs and drapes. The prices of rugs at crateandbarrel.com are super-reduced when the supply is getting limited and so far I've ordered one for my den...a 9X12 for about $120 including extra delivery charges. I've challenged myself to spend no more than $250 per room, with the exception of the kitchen. That havest gold stove has got to go!!! :p

For nothing?? But, don't you FEEL such a sense of accomplishment now? It's clean, it's fresh, it's organized! (At least for a little while....if your house is anything like mine, it doesn't stay that way for long!)lol
