Please pray for me - my Dad died...

I'm going back to Nebraska for the service this week. My whole family is Catholic or non-religious, and I am a reformed Christian. I will not participate in the rosary and Eucharist and creeds with them, knowing how tweaked their faith is. If you can please pray that they will not see this as snobbery, but see my love for the true God.

Amy... I understand your dilemna all too well. I think it is courageous for you to take a stand for your faith and not crater to what may be their expectations, even in the face of this adversity. Hopefully some family members will see the light within you and be drawn to Him instead of man-made religious traditions. Praying for you...

one thing though, please be respectful of others religions on the board, i understand you are angry with some of your family right now and you have a right to that, but please just be mindful of our Catholic brothers and sisters who frequent the board (myself included, born and raised Roman Catholic) ;)

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. It was a very sad trip for me - I really will miss my Dad.

I was able to share the gospel with my sister very directly and it was good to see my 11 siblings, mom, and extended family again.

I know how you feal sweety. I will be turning sixteen in a couple days and my step dad just passed away yesterday. My real dad died when i was six around the same time of year also and both of these funarals were or are going to be one day before my brothers birthday so if all of you will pray for my family please!:cry:

Prayers go out to you for you to remember good times with your dad & they may help thru' your grief. I lost my mom April 2004 & it's the only thing that pulled me thru'.

With you saying your a reformed Christian, I must say your comment / opinion about how other peoples faith's are should be kept to yourself since we are ALL Gods Children & that's probably not being very loving to other human beings that are "different" than you in thier beliefs.

Showing up at a Catholic Funeral is respect for your dad & whole family. They should respect how much you participate or don't in it as well. So hope things worked out that way for you all.
