Coupon Train

Has anyone ever done a coupon train?

I haven't done one but I am interested in starting one.

I have both been a participant and started one before. They are great if they are well organized (rules about what can be included, what can't, and when to discard coupons) and well participated. The problem is that someone inevitably forgets or just decides they aren't doing it anymore w/o telling anyone & the chain falls apart. The first time I did it, we all just decided that it was time to stop for a while. The second time, someone said they wanted to do it, but then just stopped sending coupons out for whatever reason...and since we don't know which person it stopped on, it never picked back up again...the coupons only made it around the chain one time in that instance - it was so disappointing!

Umm...Forgive me for being stupid...but what exactly IS a coupon Train?

It takes a lot of orgainization. One way is to send a envolope of about 50 coupons with a list of addresses,the first person mails to the next on the list and so on. It's a good way to get rid of the coupons you won't use and to get new ones you could.

See, I don't get the Sunday Newspaper, so I print coupons offline. While I would LOVE to be a part of a coupon train, I don't know how I would participate!!!!

As long as someone put the rules out (ALL OF THEM-because some of us are stupid (like me) and don't know) for everyone to read, I'd LOVE to be a part of one!

Well please keep me in mind if ya do it! I was on several a year and a half ago before going to work. Sure do miss it!
