| question about coupon use
I have a question for all you DODers to see what you think. Okay here goes. So I have some coupons for items such as Garnier Fructise, Deodorant, and some others that do NOT specify that they can't be used on trial size items or have any form of a size requirement. Should I be able to use those coupons on any size I choose? If so if the coupon is more then the item I am purchasing by anywhere from $.03-$.50 what should be done? Wal-Mart the other day let me use a coupon on a trial size but only for the price of the trial leaving an extra $.50 extra that if they dedeem that coupon then will be getting. Anyone?

Hi Kirsey, If it's a trial size and the coupon is for more than the item, that's all they'll give you. (unfortunately) Try a grocery store that doubles coupons as most of the ones I've been getting don't say "do not double" on them, so you can get a really good deal on a full-sized item and have your coupon doubled at the same time - even if your coupon comes up to more, you'll still be getting a full-sized free! Unfortunately, the Walmart here, at least, doesn't double coupons. But most or all of our grocery stores do. Kat

| Re: question about coupon use
no stores in my area will double coupons. (SADNESS!!) I didn't expect to be able to get more then the coupon value but my main question was the fact that if the item is only $.95 and the coupon is for $1.00 then isn't wal-mart pocketing the extra $.05? There isn't a place to write on the coupon how much the item cost. Does that make sense?

The grocery stores here, anyways, will write the price on the coupon whether there's a place for it or not, so I'm assuming that they're only getting what the item cost, and not the double of it, that's their choice to do that. Once in awhile, the stores around here will do maybe a half dozen coupons in their ads, and you can take your most expensive coupons, including the one dollar off ones, and they'll triple them! $1.00 coupon for a .95 item and not even write the price that they took off on the coupon, unless they're going to give you one of their gift cards for the remaining 5 cents!!!!! *joking*, but they shouldn't be doing that. Hugs, Marilyn
