Hint on getting great coupons

Lately I've emailed a few companies, whose products I use, with compliments and have actually recieved coupons back from the companies. Some of the coupons I have actually recieved have been for free products. Its worth a try, even for cents off coupons, the companies really appreciate hearing the positive feedback.

You're right. Look at some of the products that you currently use. Some of them "ask" for feedback on their products. I've never done it, but it's a good idea.
By the way, you're in Bunnell??? We lived in Palm Coast for over 3 years and usually shopped (grocery) in Bunnell. Small world!!!! I think we had at least as many friends in Bunnell as we did in Palm Coast - great town! Gotta ask...is Snack Jacks still down by the beach?? LOL

I have emailed several companies, and gotten emails back saying how rarely they hear compliments, most people will not take the time unless they are complaining, so yes, they do like to hear the good stuff, too. I have had many send me coupons and free coupons as a thanks for my compliments.

One cat food company, and I will not post the name here as I do not want someone taking advantage and just trying to get coupons out of them if they don't use it, sent me an envelope with 7 coupons for free products, another sent me a box full of free items for my furbabies, as well as more free coupons to use later.

Coupons direct from the manufacturer often also have the advantage of having long or even no expiration dates, so you can wait to use them on the best deal you can find and make the most of them. For instance, some stores let you use a coupon on a bogo, if they ring them up as the first one being the full price and the second at $0 then you get two for free! Or if you just have cents off coupons, and shop at a store that lets you use two of them, because they ring the products up as half price each, you can get really cheap or free items. Many of the coupons direct from the manufacturer can also be doubled.

One good one I received recently was a little tract from JJ Foods, they make Super Pretzels, Minute Made frozen products and Luigi's Italian Ice. I visited their Luigi's site and signed up for their mailing list, they sent the tract with 4, 50cent off coupons, one for each of their products and all of them are NED!

No Expiration Date, they are good forever, as long as that product is still manufactured and available in stores. I collect some of the olds ones, and I have some for as little as 2cents off a loaf of bread, in a brand that hasn't been made in years.

Yeah, I've been here for almost 22 years (except for almost two years when we lived in North Carolina), I actually moved with my mother and sister to Palm Coast, and when my husband and first moved in together, we first went to Flagler Beach, and then Bunnell, actually out in Mondex. I used to drive my husband nuts because we couldn't walk into Wal Mart without me running into atleast two or three people I knew, lol. Yes, Snack Jacks is still there. The one grocery store in Bunnell, I can't remeber what it was, went out of business and it is a furniture store now, but Harris grocery is still there. They even put a Pizza Hut and a Dollar General there.

How long has it been since you lived in Palm Coast? I can't believe how much this county has grown.

Wow, small world, huh? It's been well over 3 years since we lived there, probably closer to four. Harris's is the grocery store we went to! I thought that was the one grocery store there
Mondex is nice - if we'd looked farther than Palm Coast, I think we'd have ended up there. We thought Palm Coast was growing way too fast too - and that was almost 4 years ago - we still keep in touch w/friends that are still there and they told us we wouldn't believe how much "more" it's grown.
Gosh, a Pizza Hut AND a Dollar Store? LOL Not when we were there, but you're right about Walmart, Flagler County was in there all the time and you "always" saw a few people you knew! It's really good to meet you (wish it could've been when I was there!)

I also just go drirectly to the website for a product I like and use, and e-mail the company and just ask if they have coupons available.

I have recieved tons cents off coupons, as well as many free item coupons, just doing this.

Wow, 2 cents off a loaf of bread? That's a true collectible! Hang onto those! I've never seen one
That is a very unique collection, and sounds lots more fun than stamps or things like that as you can "get" almost any stamp, but not a 2 cent coupon!

Welcome to DoD! That's a good idea - I was wondering if a lot of the companys have anyplace where you can sign up to be on a mailing list for coupons and things like that. There are LOTS of products we like, and can't always get, that I'd love to have coupons for - and all our stores around here double them, and once in awhile one store will do a triple-coupon week either on 6 coupons up to a dollar or 6 of the dollar ones, either way, you're getting something free!

Another tip and I don't know if yours or anyone elses librarys do this, but the town next to us does. What they have is a good-sized box, filled with coupons from everywhere and on all kinds of things - anyone is free to drop off coupons and everyone is encouraged to look through them and take the ones you'll use.
I'm in a small town in CT, so I'm wondering if this is something many librarys do? Just a thought and worth checking!
