Catalina Coupon question.......

I have a question.......

Whose fault is it if a Catalina coupon doesn't print out when it is supposed to??

Here's the deal......
Our grocery store has posted throughout the store, their Box-Top Bonus......buy for example 3 boxes of Pillsbury Waffles, get a Catalina printout for 20 free box-top points, etc.

Well, I thought this is a great time to stock up, I have coupons, and I will get the bonus box-tops for the school.

WELL, I got my catalinas, and the bonus was only for 20 bonus points.......I asked the cashier, and she said "Oh, well"

I mentioned the error to the service desk, they said they didn't know why I didn't get the right amount, and only got the 20. They asked th manager, who said it wasn't his problem, it is the responsibility of the main office......I called the main office and they said it is the store manager or the company that is responsible.

Grrrrrrrr......they are so irritating. Talk about passing the buck!

I stocked up on cereal (20 bonus), fruit snacks, (10 bonus for each set of three=20 there alone), Totino's (another 20 for each 4 boxes), waffles (20 for each 3, so I should have received 40 for my 6) etc, etc. I may not be the world's best at math, but I can tell that I am well over the 20 points!

I think the store is at fault, since they also have a program where each time you shop, your new total for a whole period is kept track at the bottom of the receipt, and when you reach a certain level, you get a % off.......WELL, my receipt reflects a whopping $78 and each previous receipt shows a different amount.....it is shrinking instead of growing......Today alone I bought over $100, and it says $78, which is way down from the accumulated $248 it was up to a few days ago. They are obviously not very efficient.

So, who should I check with next?? Keep on the store, or hunt down the catalina coupon people?? Dh says leave it be, but I want to know, I really feel like returning everything, but that would be rash, and a bit too much even though I would like to lol, esp. when they are giving hte run around.

Okay, I know it is just Bonus Box-Tops, and a reward program, but still.........................

our store has been remodeling & has not given me a catty coupon in 7 months!!every time I inquire I get the run around & they swear they are not unhooked-I say different!!

why run any program if it isn't working correct?

I bet your machines are unhooked.

Before this with the bonus box-tops not working, the Catalina machines worked pretty well. I usually get a few. RARELY do I see people get none, so if you haven't gotten any in 7 months, I'd think they are just unplugged.

This particular grocery store has a problem with promotions......last time they had the % off program they messed up too, and by a few hundred dollars, I got the 5% and my mother, who RARELY goes in, got 20%---there is no way she spent a few hundred dollars there, she does the bulk of her shopping elsewhere.

just a thought... Why don't you just return the items for a refund & tell the store manager why... or just get your money back & repurchase the items and get whatever bonus coupons print

The Catalina Mystery---SOLVED

I took my receipt in today when I went for groceries again....AND again, no bonus labels printed......So.....off the the courtesy desk I went..again

This time, a nice manager was there, and told the clerk, who initially said tough luck (again!!) that IT IS THE STORE"S RESPONSIBILITY to ensure the bonus box-top program is running and no one else's......so they scanned other things until they found some they knew would work.....so I got my bonus labels

PLUS, the nice man said I could also have the ones from before, So now I am a happy camper once again.

Granted the clerk was not pleased that she had to scan and return things a bunch of times, and I felt bad about it, but still.

Now I know any problems with the Catalina machines are the stores responsibility...

I know here in MS that if you don't do the deals seperately that you only get 1 catalina coupon.
For instance, this week we have been getting a 2.50 off your next order coupon everytime we buy a bowl of Progressive microwavable soup and other items to get the total over $2.50.
Some people tried to do this in one deal with multi bowls of soup but it did not give them but 1 coupon.

Hi all....just wanted to post my 2 cents here. I have seen the cashiers at my local grocery store unplugging the coupon machines because of the racket they make when the paper is out. NOT ONE ever calls a manager or tries to get paper, they just reach in the back and unplug them. Not a nice thing to do, but of course they don't want my 2 cents LOL
