I only enter for things I want or need or things for my daughter or nephews. I don't enter baby sweeps, very few Nascar sweeps or trips that wouldn't fit into my interests. Like, I would enter a sweep to CA but not to NY unless there were other prizes available in that same sweep that I would be interested in. I hardly ever enter sweeps for beauty supplies and products. I have enough of that crap...lol I usually enter for vehicles, tv's, gardening stuff, trips out west or overseas, and furniture or kitchen appliances. Some of this stuff I don't need, but would like to have new.

My top choices in a prize would be:
A new truck for my hubby,
A big screen TV for the hubby,
New furniture or enough money to buy some,
A trip to Disney Land or Universal Studios but only in the west and I would die to have a laptop.

I'm not asking for much, am I? lol
If I could accomplish winning all those things, I would probably pack up the sweepstaking hobby....lol

I rarely enter trip contest just because of all the other costs that would come out of pocket for the trip. I refuse to enter anything related to hunting, even if the prize has nothing to do with hunting I won't enter the contest if it's sponsered by a hunting company.
The prize I least want would be a stupid $10 gift certificate, but then you find out you can only use it on $50+ purchase.
I will enter prizes for stuff I don't want, but only if I think I can sell it (I could so use the money) or if I know somebody it will make a good gift for.

Why not hunting companies?

There's not much I'd refuse to enter, but I typically give up on entries that require that I sign up for 2 or whatever free newsletters in order to get an entry.

Prizes I least want? Trips. DH and I can't get time off work and I can't afford any other costs that might be associated. I only enter trips sweeps if there are second or third place prizes I want...or if you can choose cash instead.

Nope, I don't enter what I know I don't want. Why waste my time and why steal it from someone who does want it?

Now, what I really want is baby stuff, fishing stuff for DH, a new vehicle, or money.

pandybat-Mainly because I don't approve of hunting for sport. Not to start an argument, but I think it should be illegal. You shouldn't be allowed to kill another living creature for fun. Hunting and using the kill for food I don't like but can understand. Most hunting companies (at least ones I've seen and heard of) focus on the hunting for sport and that's why I refuse to enter any contest they would have.

I too am not thrilled with the Spa vacations, however I do enter hoping that I could take someone who would enjoy it.

I dont enter the hunting contests, rock climbing, kyacking trips.

Everything else I enter for. My theory is: My family in other states loves getting the suprise packages, and gift baskets I send. I have won tickets to movie screening in other cities, and I give those to people on Sweep Boards who live in the town they are held in.

Yeah, I don't mind entering for something if I know who can use it.
Wouldnt enter to win something to sell. Now if I won something like exercise equipment and I had good intentions (ha ha, me exercise) of using it and didnt......................then MAYBE.

And doesnt drive you crazy, the ones you have entered EVERY DAY for YEARS and never a nibble?

I just started entering contests a few months ago.

I worry about getting spammed to death. So I avoid the ones that I think might send me lots of emails.

The contests where you have to know the answer to a several trivia questions always blows me away. I am not a trivia buff. Sometime I will guess if I think I can but otherwise I just skip them.

I don't submit writings or anything either to win. I am not a journalist.

I will enter contests if I know someone that can use the prize but I don't generally put in for something that I don't want or can't use or giveaway.

I am still just trying to get the hang of entering all these contests. I know you all have been doing this for awhile but I don't know how you are able to keep it all straight. For example...how do you remember which are daily? Also, If you have to check back to the site to see if you won....how do you remember to do that?

Lightbulb Snooze

For dailys I just use bookmarks.
Lable one file dailys A-G another H-S and T-Z.
Many people use that Fancy Shmancy Sweeps software.
Seems to take the *sport* out of it to me.

To check back on a contest.....
say it's a monthly, just bookmark it, place it in your Montly file and visit it next month.

There are prob better or more tips in the post on Hints & Tips.

Hope that helped.
