| PINECONE RESEARCH SURVEY POSTS
Pinecone Research is a very good survey site and when you find a link to their website at another website, I encourage you to try them. They pay very well and promptly. But in the past they have also requested that members do not post links to their sign-up pages on freebie boards, deal sites or chatrooms. Here is a copy of the email they sent some time back: Sent: Friday, February 01, 2002 5:33 PM Subject: Important Security Information - Please Read! Dear Panel Member, Thank you for a great year in 2001! We would like to wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year! As we begin the New Year, I thought I would take this opportunity to remind you of PineCone's security policy. At the front of each questionnaire there is a security & confidentiality agreement that each panelist must complete. This is a legal document and as such, becomes legally binding when you type "I AGREE." That is why we ask you to read the security agreement and then agree to it before you begin the survey. Manufacturers are very anxious to protect any new products from the eyes of their competition. We ask that you evaluate new products within your own household and not share them or discuss them with friends or relatives living outside of the home. With the growing popularity of the Internet, we also ask that you not share information about your product evaluation experiences with PineCone Research in chat rooms on the Worldwide Web. PineCone follows very specific guidelines for adding new members to our panel. We consider our membership to be exclusive and hope you feel the same about your participation in our panel. Those who post PineCone's registration link in chat rooms on the Worldwide Web decrease the frequency of participation for all. While we are very careful to protect your privacy, we also need to make sure that you protect the privacy of the manufacturers of the products that you evaluate. Should a panelist breach our security policy, they will be removed from further participation in our panel. Thank you for being part of PineCone Research and we look forward to your participation in future surveys. This message is being sent to our entire PineCone panel as a security policy reminder. I have also heard that they use rotating banners on the websites that they have a link on and sometimes when you see a link to them at a website and pass it up, it may not be there when you try to go back. So when you see one, get it while you can. Posting links on a board is probably a waste of time since the banner may not be there when someone goes there to sign-up. Please don't post link to Pinecone Research here. It's for the better of all of their members. I believe this and possibly Buzzback are the only companies that are doing their sign-ups this way. Thanks! |

I finally got into Pinecone a couple weeks ago through a flashing banner advertisement at another deal site, which I guess had better remain nameless! Anyway, I immediately completed the first survey they sent me, but I still haven't received any information in the mail from them, like they said they would send (including the check!). Can any experienced Pinecone users let me know how long it usually takes to receive compensation from them? I've heard they are usually really quick. Thanks! |

I just completed a survey today and they said it may take a couple days longer than usual to receive a check because they changed the way that they are doing compensation. I used to receive the checks before I took the survey but maybe people are cashing the checks and not doing the survey.

It seems I haven't gotten a survey in ages. I used to get them almost every month, but I haven't heard from them in months. I sure did enjoy the extra 5 here and there.

mishlove you have to luck upon a banner to click on that will take you to the registration page. They have been very strict lately about posting the location of said banners so it is not easy to do these days. Good Luck!
