I Need Help with Turbosweeps...again....

I am unable to import Free Sweepstakes on my already installed Turbosweeeps. I did so about 10 days ago(and 3 or 4 times before that), tried to again today and yesterday(1/22 and 1/23) and it downloads but I get a pop-up that says, "Invalid Import File". When I click okay, the Import sweepstakes screen comes up empty and there is nothing there to import. What could be the problem? Anyone having(or had) the same problem or any ideas as to why this might be happening? THANKS SO MUCH!

If you have any idea how to "fix" this or you have experienced this problem as well, please do post about it. I sent Turbosweeeps an email about it but they never answered my last "help" email to them so I don't have much faith that they will answer this one.

Is your version of Turbossweeps the 5.2.x.x one? Otherwise that importing won't work from that first page. I had to redownload it for it to work for me this week.

BUT I have TWO REALLY DUMB QUESTIONS!!

1) HOW do you figure out if it is version 5.2? Where does it tell you what version you have..I can't seem to find this! (I have only been doing Turbosweeps since the end of November, 2001)

2) IF I re-download it(IF I don't have 5.2), will I LOSE all the sweeps that I have in my present version?

btw, I have imported new sweeps before..never had this problem until a few days ago

Don't know if this will help but I noticed the other day when I started Turbo they have a new link on the start page about a Gold membership(I think). When I went to the link it offers a membership for (I think) 19.95 for 3 months worth of weekly updates of sweeps.

Seems to me that they are trying to make some bucks for the imports now.

Not sure but maybe that is why it won't let you import....

But I tried to import FREE Sweepstakes and Bones899 redownloaded Turbosweeps.

I guess I really want to know if all my stored Turbosweeps will disappear if I download Turbosweeps again. I guess I don't have version 5.2 but I have NO IDEA where to look to find out!

If you go to the help button on the taskbar of Turbo and hit About Turbo Sweeps..it will tell you which version you have. You can also export your sweeps and save them in your documents so that you can reload them if you do lose them.

This is now on the start page also Got Sweepstakes?
Import Free Sweepstakes (Requires Turbo Sweeps Version 5.2)

So you will need to download the new version.

I have version 5.1 so I guess I do need to download the new 5.2 version as you said.

I tried to export my sweeps and save them in my documents..all done. But it stores itself as a TSI file and then will not open..any ideas?

I went ahead and downloaded the new version this morning. It does not affect your sweeps or info.

FYI You need to have Turbo open when you download it but need to close it before install!

PS You are not a pain. I often need help with things and am very grateful that everyone here is so sweet and helpful. I do not mind at all. I kind of like being able to help out every now and then!!!!!!

I did download it but my wonderful Dell computer won't let me install it....will have to work on it this weekend when I have time and maybe even get some help for such a simple thing!

Sometimes I feel like a real idiot asking these questions. So when you tell me that I was not the only one who questioned something, I don't feel half as dumb!

NOW if I could only install the 5.2 version that I downloaded!

I FINALLY installed 5.2 version(with a lot of help from a friend since my computer is terribly uncooperative!) and it seems to be just fine(took all my sweeps with it from 5.1 to 5.2)

BUT I CAN NO LONG IMPORT OR EXPORT SWEEPS!!!! I was able to do so with the 5.1 version but NOW it does not work!

Anyone have the same problem when changing over fror 5.1 to 5.2?...... or any solutions?

What is it doing when you try to import sweeps?

Are you importing them from the Turbo site or just on your own?

With 5.2 I can no longer import or export any sweeps. When I click on File(on top) and then click Import or Export NOTHING happens at all!!!

IS THIS NORMAL?
